Evaluate a Thai infrastructure stock’s analyst target as a dated, conditional valuation estimate—not a promise that the share price will reach that level. Before judging the number, identify the security and assets it covers, the report’s horizon and reference price, the valuation method and assumptions, and the events or constraints that could affect the market’s response.
First identify what the security actually owns
“Infrastructure stock” can describe very different businesses and securities. The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) includes electric power, water, ground transportation, ports and airports, telecommunications, pollution control, disaster warning and management, and alternative energy in its infrastructure category. Its listing criteria also describe long-concession or government-contract characteristics, but those criteria do not make every infrastructure-related security operate alike. SET’s infrastructure-company listing information is useful context, not a substitute for checking a particular issuer.

- Operating company: Identify revenue streams, concessions, power-purchase or service agreements, project construction and operating status, and major counterparties.
- Holding company: Look through the parent to its underlying assets, subsidiaries, and debt. A target for the parent is not necessarily a direct valuation of one project.
- Infrastructure fund: Separate the fund’s interests and project cash flows from its distribution policy, appraised asset values, and tradable unit price.
Use current issuer filings to confirm the assets and business scope that the analyst’s model covers. A target attached to a parent, subsidiary, project, REIT, or fund may not be comparable with one covering a different scope.

Record the analyst or research provider, report date, share-price reference date, target price, recommendation, stated target horizon, and any conditions or catalyst dates. A target without its date and horizon is incomplete context. If calculating implied upside, use a matched share-price reference and state its date; do not pair a target with an unrelated current price and present the result as a like-for-like forecast.
#1 Best Overall
A Krungsri Securities Research Division report dated 18 June 2025, covering Fraser Property Thailand Industrial REIT, describes one provider’s methodology: “In most cases, the Target Price will equal the analyst’s assessment of the current intrinsic fair value of the stock using an appropriate valuation methodology such as Discounted Cash Flow or Multiple analysis etc. However, if the analyst doesn’t think the market will revalue the stock over the specified time horizon due to a lack of events or catalysts, then the target price may differ from the intrinsic fair value. Recommendations are set with a 6-12 month horizon unless specified otherwise.” Krungsri Securities research
This is a dated example of disclosed methodology, not a sector-wide rule or a current target for Thai infrastructure stocks. In particular, the six-to-twelve-month horizon is what that report says applies in most cases unless specified otherwise; check each report for its own horizon.

Check the valuation method and the assumptions beneath it
Find the method the report actually discloses. A target number alone does not reveal whether the analyst used discounted cash flow (DCF), valuation multiples, an asset-based approach, or another framework. Krungsri’s report names DCF and multiple analysis as examples; do not assume either method was used in a different report unless it says so.

Check which operating or financing inputs most affect the result.
- For multiples: Identify the metric, peer group or historical reference, and whether differences in leverage, growth, or asset quality make the comparison meaningful.
- For any method: Read disclosed sensitivities and scenarios. Ask whether the valuation depends on demand, utilization, tariffs, power prices, contract renewals, construction completion, financing costs, or regulatory approvals.
These are questions for the report and issuer, not claims that every company faces each factor. A robust comparison makes the key assumptions visible instead of treating target prices as standalone answers.

Verify the business evidence and asset values
Use primary records to check business descriptions, results, debt, project status, and material disclosures that underpin a forecast. The SET EGCO factsheet provides an official entry point for a power producer’s company information and annual-report resources. The SET also provides a broader financial-statements and annual-reports page.
For fund interests, distinguish an appraisal of underlying assets from the price at which fund units trade and from an analyst’s target. BTSGIF’s asset-appraisal reports page lists reports by valuation date, including one dated 30 June 2026 and earlier quarter ends. Read the relevant report for its scope, assumptions, and effective date. An appraised asset value is not a guarantee of realizable proceeds or unit value.
Rank #4
Compare targets only on matching terms
When reading several analyst views, align the key details or make the mismatch explicit. Do not rank targets as though they were directly comparable if they refer to different dates, horizons, share bases, methods, or assets.
| Comparison axis | What to align or explain |
|---|---|
| As-of date and price basis | Report date, share-price reference date, share class, and adjustment basis. |
| Horizon | Explicit target horizon and forecast period. |
| Valuation framework | DCF, multiple analysis, asset-based method, or another stated approach. |
| Main assumptions | Forecast earnings or cash flows, discount rate, terminal value, peer set, and disclosed scenarios. |
| Asset and business scope | Operating company, parent or holding company, subsidiary, project, REIT, or infrastructure fund. |
| Catalysts and risks | Events expected to narrow or widen the gap, and risks that could challenge model inputs. |
| Recommendation meaning | The broker’s rating definitions and any stated conditions. |
A gap between a target and a share price can reflect expected catalysts and timing as well as an estimate of intrinsic value. Treat the report’s recommendation definitions and conditions as specific to that provider. Krungsri Securities’ methodology disclosure illustrates why the target and the expected market re-rating over a given horizon need not be identical.

What the available figures do—and do not—establish
The cited materials do not establish a market-wide consensus, a current target basket for Thai infrastructure stocks, or evidence about target-price accuracy. An isolated target, especially one with a different date or scope, cannot stand in for consensus. SET listing thresholds concern admission eligibility and project characteristics, not expected returns or investment quality. Avoid turning those criteria into a performance statistic.
