Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →There is no single “Cloudflare data platform” meter, so a defensible monthly estimate starts with the services in your design and the usage each one bills. Inventory Workers requests and CPU time, D1 rows read and written, R2 storage and operations, Pipelines transforms and sink output, plus any other metered products. Apply the allowances for your actual plan and billing period, include migration work that consumes those meters, and validate the forecast in a representative pilot.
Why there is no single monthly price
Cloudflare costs depend on your architecture and workload, not just the size of the dataset you plan to move. A data platform built with Workers, D1, R2 and Pipelines uses several different meters: requests and CPU milliseconds, database rows scanned or written, stored GB-months and object operations, and pipeline transform or output volume. Other selected products—such as logging, analytics, images, video, vector, routing or security services—may add their own usage charges.
Separate fixed plan or subscription charges from consumption charges. Geography, account plan and Enterprise contract terms can also affect the estimate. The public USD figures below are Cloudflare rates and allowances verified on the dates noted; they are not an account quote, and Enterprise terms may differ. Check the live pricing pages before approval.
Build a monthly workload inventory
Choose a representative month and record the billable volume for each service in your proposed architecture. Use telemetry or a pilot where possible; dataset size alone does not tell you how many rows will be scanned, requests made or bytes delivered.

| Service | Track for the estimate | What can be overlooked |
|---|---|---|
| Workers | Requests and CPU milliseconds | Cache-served requests still count as requests. CPU is billed only when the Worker runs on a cache miss or bypass. |
| D1 | Rows read, rows written and stored GB | Rows read reflect rows scanned, even if a filter returns fewer rows. Loading data, validation scans and index creation also use query capacity. |
| R2 | GB-months, Class A operations, Class B operations, and retrieval where relevant | Access patterns and storage class affect operation and retrieval charges as well as storage cost. |
| Pipelines | Input volume, SQL-transformed volume and sink output volume by format | Sink billing uses uncompressed delivered data. Retries and output expansion can make sink volume differ from input volume. |
| Other products | The official billable metric for each selected service | Logging, analytics, images, video, vector, routing or security products can have separate usage billing. |
For each measure, note whether it comes from current system telemetry, a representative migration test or an explicit forecast. Include retention duration, traffic and cache-hit assumptions, query patterns, retries, compaction, and transformations that will occur during the month being modelled.
Measure migration and setup work, not just steady state
Migration can create billable activity even when the source dataset is a one-time transfer. D1 queries used to insert data, scan tables for validation or create indexes count toward D1 usage. Cloudflare says indexes can reduce reads but add writes when indexed values change; row size does not change the row count. Measure the loading and validation pass rather than assuming it is free. Cloudflare D1 pricing
For Workers, capture request and CPU behavior in a representative run. For Pipelines, account for the volume after transformation and the amount delivered to the sink. Backfills, retries and compaction belong in the forecast period in which they happen. If a one-time migration is not part of a normal recurring month, show it separately from steady-state monthly cost rather than hiding it in a monthly average.

Apply the allowance and rate for each product
For each meter, subtract only the allowance that applies to the selected plan and billing interval. Price the remaining usage at the current rate, then add the plan minimum and any separately metered dependencies. Do not assume products share a renewal date or free-tier reset behavior.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

| Workers Standard on Workers Paid | $5 monthly account minimum; 10 million requests per month included, then $0.30 per additional million. 30 million CPU milliseconds included, then $0.02 per additional million CPU milliseconds. | Cloudflare’s pricing page, updated 2026-10-02, gives an example of 15 million monthly requests at 7 ms CPU averaging $8 total, including the $5 subscription. Workers pricing |
| D1 on Workers Paid | 25 billion rows read and 50 million rows written per month included; excess reads $0.001 per million rows and excess writes $1.00 per million rows. First 5 GB storage included, then $0.75 per GB-month. | Cloudflare D1 pricing, updated 2026-04-21. Paid monthly allowances reset on subscription renewal. Free-plan limits are 5 million reads per day, 100,000 writes per day and 5 GB total storage; daily limits reset at 00:00 UTC. D1 pricing |
| R2 Standard | $0.015 per GB-month; Class A $4.50 per million requests; Class B $0.36 per million requests. | Cloudflare’s current pricing page, accessed 2026-10-03. Usage is rounded up to the next billing unit. R2 pricing |
| R2 Infrequent Access | $0.01 per GB-month; Class A $9.00 per million requests; Class B $0.90 per million requests; retrieval $0.01 per GB. | Cloudflare’s current pricing page, accessed 2026-10-03. Usage is rounded up to the next billing unit. R2 pricing |
| Pipelines on Workers Paid | Stream ingress included; SQL transforms include 50 GB/month, then $0.04/GB. Sinks include 50 GB/month, then $0.03/GB for JSON or $0.06/GB for Parquet/Iceberg. | Cloudflare Pipelines pricing, updated 2026-08-27; sink volume is uncompressed data delivered. Pipelines pricing |
These allowances are not interchangeable. For example, D1’s Free daily limits are not equivalent to Workers Paid monthly allowances. Use the interval and reset date attached to the plan you will actually use.
Understand caching, R2 egress and connected-service charges
Workers cache changes CPU exposure, not request counting
Requests served from the Worker cache still count as requests; CPU time is billed only when the Worker runs on a cache miss or bypass. In Cloudflare’s 2026-10-02 example, 100 million requests at 7 ms average CPU and an 80% cache hit rate total $34.20, compared with $45.40 without that cache-hit pattern. Do not apply the cache reduction to every request-based component. Workers pricing

R2 direct egress has no transfer fee, but the architecture may still cost
Cloudflare does not charge for direct data transfer from R2 to the internet, including through the Workers API, S3 API or r2.dev. That does not make every operation or connected service free: include R2 storage, requests and relevant retrieval, as well as charges for any other metered service in the data path. R2 pricing
Storage class trades storage rate against access costs
R2 Infrequent Access has a lower listed storage rate than Standard, but higher Class A and B request rates and a retrieval fee. Compare expected access and retrieval volumes, not the storage rate by itself.
Work through a Pipelines example
Cloudflare’s 2026-08-27 example uses 500 GB per month ingested, 500 GB transformed and 300 GB delivered to Iceberg. The transform overage is $18 and the sink overage is $15, for $33 in Pipelines charges. R2 storage and operations, and R2 Data Catalog charges where applicable, are separate. The example shows why ingest volume alone is not enough: transformed and delivered volume have their own meters. Pipelines pricing

Calculate low, expected and high cases
Put the measured or forecast quantities into a spreadsheet or cost model with one row per billable meter. For each row, keep the allowance, billable excess, rate and resulting cost visible; then total plan minimums, product usage and connected-service costs separately.
- Low case: use defensible lower traffic and operation levels, lower CPU per request where supported by measurement, realistic cache hits, and the retention period you expect to achieve.
- Expected case: use representative telemetry or pilot measurements for requests, CPU, D1 scans and writes, R2 operations, transformation ratios and sink output.
- High case: test higher traffic, cache misses, CPU variance, longer retention, query scans, retries, backfills and output growth.
Keep uncertain assumptions explicit. A workload may be most sensitive to D1 scan volume, Workers CPU, storage retention, R2 operations, or pipeline output format and expansion. Identify which variable moves the total most so the team knows what to measure or constrain before committing.
Validate the estimate during a pilot
Run a representative workload and compare predicted quantities with observed product usage. D1 query metadata includes rows_read and rows_written; Workers measurements, source-system telemetry and product dashboards or APIs can inform the other meters. Confirm that migration work, validation queries, retries and output formats are represented.

Cloudflare’s usage-based billing dashboard provides daily cost breakdowns and product-level usage, and budget alerts can notify you when spend crosses a chosen threshold. Cloudflare says the monthly invoice is the most reliable billing information. Reconcile the pilot against billable usage and the invoice rather than treating a spreadsheet or estimate as the final charge. Usage-based billing
Recheck live product pricing and account terms at sign-off and after effective pricing changes. Cloudflare’s Workers pricing documentation says Workers Logs will move to Observability pricing beginning 2026-12-01, so estimates spanning that date should be reviewed against the pricing then in effect. Workers pricing
Compare architectures on the same workload
When evaluating alternatives, hold the workload assumptions constant and compare all billable dimensions, not headline rates. Include each option’s plan basis and included allowance, renewal or reset interval, storage and output format, expected reads and writes, request and operation counts, migration activity, and network charges in the full service path. Mark which quantities are measured and which remain forecasts. This makes the estimate auditable and exposes whether an apparent saving depends on an optimistic assumption.
