Microsoft Edge no longer has a built-in Coupons feature that can be enabled. The former shopping tool—which found promotional codes, displayed a shopping-tag icon, and sometimes tested coupons at checkout—has been discontinued by Microsoft.
If you cannot find the old Save time and money with Shopping in Microsoft Edge switch, a blue shopping tag, or an Apply coupons button, nothing is wrong with your installation. Those controls belonged to the retired feature. Microsoft is moving Edge’s remaining shopping tools into Copilot instead.

Can you still enable Coupons in Microsoft Edge?
No. Microsoft has retired the built-in Coupons feature and says the change was made to simplify its shopping offerings. Current versions of Edge do not provide a supported setting for restoring it.
Older guides may tell you to open:

That path describes the previous shopping experience. It should not be treated as a current method for enabling coupons. The same applies to old instructions for Edge on Android that recommend opening … > Settings > General > Coupons.

What shopping features does Edge support now?
Microsoft is consolidating shopping assistance in Copilot in Edge. Depending on your account, region, device, and Edge version, Copilot may provide:
- Price comparisons
- Price history
- Price tracking
- Product reviews and alternative buying options
- Cashback notifications or opportunities
These tools are not a replacement for the retired automatic coupon finder. In particular, you should not expect Edge to scan a checkout page and test a list of promotional codes as the old Coupons feature did.
How to use Edge’s current shopping tools
- Open Microsoft Edge and visit a supported product page.
- Select the Copilot icon in the Edge sidebar. If the sidebar is hidden, open it through Edge’s sidebar controls or the Copilot button available in your version.
- Review the shopping information shown in the Copilot pane, such as price history, comparisons, reviews, or buying options.
- Check the retailer’s own terms before buying. A displayed price, cashback offer, or comparison may not include shipping, taxes, membership pricing, or a retailer-specific promotion.
Microsoft is rolling these features out gradually, so the Copilot shopping panel may not appear on every product page or for every Edge user.

Enable the settings required for shopping insights
If Copilot does not show shopping information, check Edge’s current shopping-related settings:
- Select Settings and more (…) > Settings.
- Open Privacy, search, and services.
- Scroll to Search and connected experiences.
- Make sure the shopping-related connected experiences are enabled.
Personalized shopping features may also require you to sign in to Edge with a Microsoft account. Availability can vary by country or region, and enabling the setting does not bring back the retired Coupons controls.
Update Edge before troubleshooting
A current browser version is worth checking before diagnosing missing Copilot shopping features. In Edge:

edge://settings/helpEdge checks for updates automatically. Select Download and install if an update is available. If the update has already downloaded, select Restart to complete it.
Why the shopping icon or Copilot panel may be missing
No Coupons toggle
This is expected on current Edge installations. The feature has been discontinued rather than hidden behind a new setting.
No blue shopping icon
Microsoft is deprecating the former shopping-tag entry point and directing users toward Copilot. Its absence does not mean that Edge needs a special flag or registry change.

Update Edge, sign in with a Microsoft account, and confirm that shopping features are enabled under Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Search and connected experiences. The feature may still be unavailable because of regional restrictions, account eligibility, gradual rollout, or the particular product page.

What about Express Checkout?
Microsoft has a separate Express Checkout support article that still mentions automatic coupon application and the old shopping setting. That documentation conflicts with Microsoft’s newer notice confirming that the Coupons feature is retired.
Do not use Express Checkout instructions as a guaranteed way to restore Edge’s standalone Coupons feature. At most, they describe older or separately maintained shopping functionality that may not be available in your installation.

Some policy documentation still refers to coupons and automatic coupon application for supported policy versions. However, that information is inconsistent with Microsoft’s explicit Coupons-retirement notice. Administrators should not enable this policy expecting it to restore the retired consumer feature. Policy behavior can also depend on the Edge version and managed environment.

How to apply coupons now
Although Edge no longer supplies its own Coupons tool, you can still use a retailer’s promotion in the normal way:
- Find the coupon or promotional code on the retailer’s official website, email newsletter, loyalty account, or another source you trust.
- Read the restrictions, including minimum order value, eligible products, expiration date, and whether the code applies before tax or shipping.
- Enter the code in the retailer’s checkout field, often labeled Promo code, Discount code, or Voucher.
- Confirm that the order total changes before submitting payment.
Be cautious with coupon websites that require an extension, ask for unnecessary permissions, or redirect checkout through unfamiliar domains. Edge’s retired built-in feature should not be confused with third-party coupon extensions, which are separate products and have their own privacy and security risks.

How do I turn on Coupons in Microsoft Edge?
