Individual games may have their own graphics options; there is no single switch that turns on every PS5 Pro enhancement.
What the PS5 Pro graphics settings do
Three related features are easy to confuse:
- PS5 Pro Enhanced is a label for games optimized for the console. What changes—and whether a game offers selectable graphics modes—varies by title.
- Enhance PSSR Image Quality is a system setting for certain compatible PS5 games. PlayStation says results vary by game. The setting was on by default according to its support page, accessed October 9, 2026. PlayStation: PS5 Pro enhanced games
- Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games is a separate compatibility feature for PS4 games played on a PS5 Pro. It has a display requirement and may cause unexpected gameplay behavior.
Neither system setting guarantees a particular resolution, frame rate, or visual improvement in every game. Check the game’s own graphics menu and support information for its available options.

How to check or enable PSSR image quality
- From the PS5 home screen, open Settings.
- Select Screen and Video, then Video Output.
- Check Enhance PSSR Image Quality and turn it on if needed.
- Start a PSSR-compatible PS5 game and judge the result in that game. If you see unwanted visual effects, turn the setting off.

How to enhance image quality in PS4 games
- Open Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output.
- Select Enhance Image Quality for PS4 Games.
- Use this feature only with a display that supports 2160p or 1440p at 60 Hz.

How to find supported and enhanced games
In the PlayStation Store, open Collections > PS5 Pro Enhanced, or search for “PS5 Pro.” Store listings can change, so check the catalog when you are choosing a game. A Pro Enhanced label does not mean every title uses the PSSR setting in the same way.
PlayStation’s PS5 Pro page listed these titles under “Supported titles with Enhanced PSSR” when accessed October 9, 2026: Resident Evil Requiem; SILENT HILL f; SILENT HILL 2; Final Fantasy VII Rebirth; Alan Wake 2; Control; Monster Hunter Wilds; Dragon’s Dogma 2; Dragon Age: The Veilguard; Nioh 3; Rise of the Ronin; Crimson Desert; Assassin’s Creed Shadows; and Cyberpunk 2077. PlayStation announced on March 16, 2026 that upgraded PSSR software began rolling out in phases that day. It said players could manually check for and install the system update through PS5 settings, and advised switching off the PSSR image-quality option if unexpected visual effects appeared. Developers described image-quality improvements in specific games: Remedy’s graphics technical director said upgraded PSSR improves upscaling quality and stability, while Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi described more natural restoration of fine details and less flicker and afterimage.
