The setting applies automatically; there is no separate save step. The toggle is available only for WordPress websites.
Before you enable .htaccess support
These instructions apply to WordPress websites on Agency Hosting. The setting is not available for non-WordPress sites. For those sites, consult the provider’s separate guidance on dashboard alternatives for common .htaccess tasks.

.htaccess is a configuration file used by Apache-based web servers. Depending on the setup, rules in it can control redirects, access to files or directories, advanced WordPress configurations, and custom error pages such as 403 and 404 responses.
Enable .htaccess support in hPanel
- Sign in to hPanel.
- Open Websites.
- Find the WordPress site you want to configure and select Dashboard beside it.
- Scroll to Settings.
- Find .htaccess support and switch it on. The active toggle turns purple, and the change takes effect automatically.
Decide whether you need the setting
Do not enable support by default if your site does not need .htaccess rules. Agency Hosting uses its own web server technology by default, which handles many redirect and rewrite needs natively. The provider recommends leaving .htaccess support off unless a particular setup requires it; the feature is off by default for performance.

For basic redirects
Use the built-in Redirects tool for straightforward redirects rather than enabling .htaccess just for that purpose. The provider identifies this as the simpler option for basic redirect needs.
For rules or configurations that require .htaccess
Enable the setting when a specific WordPress configuration, plugin requirement, access rule, or custom error-page setup depends on .htaccess. If that need goes away, return to the same Settings section in the site dashboard and switch the toggle off.
