For a smoother plan, handle ordinary progression and cleanup first, then attempt the under-four-hour and no-active-ability challenges in separate runs.
Sort Them Ducks is a single-player Steam game from developer Mr.Duck and publisher Sandouq Studio, released August 13, 2026. Its core loop is picking up rubber ducks and placing them on matching shelves; the Steam listing describes more than 4,000 unique ducks and upgradeable abilities. The achievement guide below concerns the Steam version.

How the achievement list is documented
Steam’s Global Achievements page shows 20 achievements. It provides visible conditions for many, but leaves six descriptions blank. A third-party checklist reports steps for those six; because Steam does not display those conditions, treat them as community-documented, not official, unless confirmed in-game or by the developer.

First placements, money, and sorting milestones
Steam’s visible conditions include making your first correct placement, reaching $100, sorting 100 ducks, sorting 1,000 ducks, and misplacing 10 ducks. Another listed condition is dropping the same duck five times before sorting it. These are natural early- and mid-game goals; the milestones can accumulate while you play rather than requiring a dedicated challenge run.

Fill a shelf category
Steam also lists an achievement for filling a shelf category. If it does not unlock when you think the shelf is complete, check that the ducks are correctly placed in the matching category and that the shelf has actually reached its completion state. The available listing establishes the condition, but does not specify a troubleshooting procedure for a failed unlock.
Upgrade and ability achievements
Steam’s visible conditions include maximizing upgrades, collecting 15 ducks with one ability use, using Find Duck 50 times, and obtaining every slot-machine upgrade. These make a useful cleanup group once you have progressed enough to access the relevant abilities and upgrade systems.

Six blank Steam descriptions
The third-party Sort Them Ducks Guide supplies reported steps for six achievements whose descriptions Steam leaves blank. Its checklist includes triggering a bomb, interacting with a cash register, using eggs and hatching, and duplicating ducks, including large copy counts. These are useful leads, but their conditions are not shown on Steam; regard them as community-reported details rather than official instructions.
If one of these does not unlock, verify the relevant action and resulting in-game state, then consult the checklist for its reported condition. The platform listing alone cannot confirm the hidden trigger.

Plan the two challenge achievements as separate runs
No Time to Waddle: finish in under four hours
Steam’s condition is completing the game in under four hours. A speed-focused attempt can benefit from active abilities, which help with the ordinary sorting loop.
I Don’t Do Buttons: finish without pressing an active ability
Steam’s condition is completing the game without pressing an active ability. Because using abilities may help speed progression while this challenge forbids their use, plan this as a separate attempt. This is a route-planning inference from the two listed conditions, not a tested guarantee that no combined strategy could work.

One practical order is to make a normal progress-and-upgrade run, use a separate run for the under-four-hour condition, and then start a no-active-ability run. AllThingsHow’s August 20, 2026 walkthrough also advises treating the constraints separately; the recommendation follows from the incompatibility in their practical strategies.
