To print photos through another provider, either download selected items from Google Photos or export your library with Google Takeout. Then locate the image files and upload them using the print provider’s own website or app. Downloading makes a copy; it does not remove the originals from Google Photos.
Choose the download method that fits your order

Google documents individual downloads and Takeout exports, but a Takeout archive is not a direct upload to every print lab. Before choosing a provider, check its own upload instructions, supported file types, size limits, and image requirements.

Download selected photos or videos on a computer
- Sign in to the Google Account that contains your photos and open photos.google.com.
- Select the photo or video you want to download.
- Choose More > Download.
- Repeat for each item you want to send to the print provider, then upload the downloaded files through that provider’s site or app.
Google notes that your operating system may assign a new timestamp to a downloaded file. The photo or video’s metadata remains available in the file details view.

- Sign in to the Google Account that holds the photos and open Google Takeout.
- Review the product selections. If you want a Photos-only export, deselect other selected Google products and leave Google Photos selected.
- If the Google Photos data selector offers choices for albums or included data, narrow the export to what you want, then continue to the export settings.
- Choose the delivery method. If you choose the emailed download link, Google sends a message with a link to retrieve the archive after it is ready.
- Create the export. Wait for Google’s completion notice, download the archive, and inspect it on a desktop computer. Google says it includes an
archive_browser.htmlfile with information about formats and viewing the data. - Locate the image files you intend to print, extract the archive if needed, and upload those files using the print provider’s own instructions.
Google recommends a desktop computer for viewing an export. Changes made after you request an export but before Google creates the archive may not appear in it. If recent edits or additions matter, check the downloaded files against your current library or make a later export.

If Takeout is delayed or the archive does not work
Google says account-safety actions can delay or prevent an export. A work or school administrator may also control whether a Google Workspace user can download account data. If Takeout is unavailable, check for those account restrictions. If an archive fails, Google recommends creating another one; for a large export, try exporting one product at a time.
Check the files before you place the print order
- Confirm the selection: Open the downloaded files and make sure you have the photos you meant to print. This is especially important for Takeout, where the archive can omit changes made after the export request.
- Review crop and orientation: Compare the image with the print provider’s crop preview. A print size with a different shape from the photo may cut off part of the image.
- Check resolution against the print size: Google warns that low-resolution images can look blurry in print. Choose a size the file can support and review the provider’s preview or resolution warning before checkout.
- Follow the provider’s file requirements: Google’s Takeout instructions do not establish the accepted image types or upload limits for an independent lab. Confirm those details with the provider.
Downloading files versus ordering through Google’s print options
If your aim is specifically to order prints, downloading first is not always necessary. Google documents home-delivered prints in Canada, the UK, the US, and EU countries, plus selected same-day pickup options in the US. Its US information lists home-delivered sizes from 4×6 through 20×30 inches and, for contiguous-US delivery, estimates of 9–12 business days for economy, 5–9 for standard, and 4–6 for priority. Geographic exceptions apply; check the current local order screen for availability, delivery estimates, sizes, finishes, and pickup details. Google’s print information also lists same-day pickup at CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart in the US, with store-specific finishes and payment at the store.

Fujifilm for Google Photos Print Store
Google also describes a Fujifilm-integrated print store with individual prints, custom photo books, canvas prints, wall art, and personalized photo gifts. This route is designed to link selected photos directly rather than download files first. Google says it shares the photos you select and your account email with Fujifilm to facilitate printing; Fujifilm handles payment for new orders. Google distinguishes these new orders from older orders that may appear in Google Photos order history. Check the current Google Photos print-store help page for the available workflow in your region.
FUJIFILM North America Corporation said on August 31, 2026, that the expanded US storefront began rolling out at the end of August 2026 and that Fujifilm was taking a larger role in print-store management and support. That announcement describes a US rollout; it does not establish availability everywhere.

Can you transfer photos directly to another print provider?
Google offers a separate transfer feature that can copy supported photo and video types to an outside service after you authorize it. That does not mean every print lab is a supported destination. Check Google’s supported transfer destinations and file details before relying on a transfer. Google also notes that repeating a transfer may create duplicates. If the provider you want is not listed, download the files and follow that provider’s upload workflow.
