Netflix’s current help guidance lists Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, Amazon Fire tablets, and Chromebooks with Google Play Store installed as supported device types.
How to download Netflix shows

Update and open the Netflix app on a supported device. Netflix recommends using Wi-Fi to limit mobile data use.

Find a movie or show in Netflix. To browse downloadable titles, open Downloads and choose the download-discovery option; its wording can vary by device.

Tap or click the download icon beside a movie or episode. For a series, download episodes individually or choose Download Season if that option appears.

Before you leave internet access, open Downloads and confirm the title or episodes are listed there.
How to watch downloads without Wi-Fi
Open Netflix on the device that downloaded the title, go to Downloads, select the movie or episode, and press Play. You must remain signed in to Netflix. The download feature does not transfer titles to another device.

Which devices and titles are eligible?
Supported devices
Netflix lists Android phones and tablets, iPhone and iPad, Amazon Fire tablets, and Chromebooks that have the Google Play Store installed. Older operating-system versions may not support downloads, and some Android devices do not meet Netflix’s download security requirements. Check the Netflix app and current Help Center guidance for your device and region.
Downloadable titles
Not every Netflix movie or show is available to download. Look for the download icon next to a title or episode, or use the app’s download-discovery area. If there is no download control, the title may not be licensed for offline viewing, or your device may not be compatible.

Download limits by plan

| Ad-supported plans | 15 total downloads per device per calendar month. The monthly limit resets at the beginning of the calendar month. |
Netflix also limits how many devices can download at once based on the plan. These are separate restrictions: the ad-free figure is a cap on active downloads per device, while the ad-supported figure is a monthly download allowance per device. Plan rules can change, so check the current Help Center terms for your account.
Why can’t I download a Netflix show?

No download button: The title may not be downloadable, the device or operating system may be unsupported, or the device may not meet Netflix’s security requirements. Try a supported device and check for an app or system update.

Monthly limit reached: On an ad-supported plan, the stated allowance is 15 downloads per device per calendar month. It resets at the beginning of the next calendar month.

Title download limit reached: Some titles have a limited number of downloads per account per year. Netflix says you can stream the title while online or choose another title; its explanation for this error says the same title may not be downloadable again for up to a year.

Membership canceled: Netflix says downloads are deleted when an account is canceled. If you restart membership, download the titles again.
How long do Netflix downloads last?
There is no single expiry period for all downloads in Netflix’s general guidance. A download may expire after a limited time, and some titles have renewal or annual download restrictions. If an expired title is still available on Netflix, delete it and download it again. If the title has left the service, it cannot be renewed or downloaded again.
