To download screenshots from LambdaTest, now documented under TestMu AI branding as formerly LambdaTest, use the API endpoint that matches the artifact: a screenshot-test ID for automated screenshot results, or a browser-automation session ID for step-by-step screenshots. The automated-test details endpoint returns individual image URLs; the ZIP endpoints return a URL for a bundled archive. These documented routes use Basic authentication.
Choose the export route for your screenshots
First identify how the screenshots were produced. A test ID and a session ID belong to different workflows, and the endpoints are not interchangeable.

The vendor references call the latter workflow “fetch all step by step screenshots.” They describe the two ZIP responses as URLs; they do not specify how long those URLs remain valid. TestMu AI API documentation identifies the service as formerly LambdaTest.
Prepare Basic authentication safely
The documented endpoints require HTTP Basic authentication using your LambdaTest account username and access key. The vendor guide demonstrates keeping credentials in environment variables rather than placing real values in code. See the vendor API guide for current credential guidance.

In the examples below, set LAMBDATEST_USERNAME and LAMBDATEST_ACCESS_KEY in your shell environment before running a command. Do not paste live credentials into shared scripts, logs, screenshots, or public repositories. Replace the example identifier with the ID from the matching run.
Download individual images from an automated screenshot test
Call the details endpoint with the test ID and inspect its JSON response. The documented response example includes status, browser and operating-system metadata, resolution, and screenshot and thumbnail URL fields. Use the screenshot URL values to fetch the image files you need.

Export an automated screenshot test as a ZIP
To bundle the automated test’s screenshots, request its ZIP endpoint using the test ID:

The API reference does not state a URL expiry period, so if the link no longer works, call the authenticated endpoint again to obtain a fresh response.

For browser-automation screenshots captured throughout a session, use the session ID—not the screenshot test ID:

Common problems and fixes
- Wrong identifier type: A screenshot test endpoint expects a test ID; the step-by-step endpoint expects an automation session ID. Confirm the run type and use its corresponding ID.
- Authentication failure: Check that both environment variables are set correctly and that the request sends them as Basic authentication. Avoid adding credentials to the URL.
- You received JSON instead of image files: The details endpoint returns metadata with image URLs. Fetch the individual screenshot URL values, or use the test ZIP endpoint when you want a bundle.
- The ZIP URL does not download: The references do not establish link validity duration. Retry the authenticated endpoint and use the URL from its current response.
- You need dashboard click-by-click instructions: The documented material establishes API exports but does not verify current dashboard labels or a manual export path. Consult the current LambdaTest/TestMu AI dashboard rather than relying on guessed menu names.
