You can display your own digital art on a Samsung The Frame by saving image files to the TV through the SmartThings app or a USB storage device, then choosing an image in Art Mode. For a full-screen 16:9 image, Samsung France recommends 3840 × 2160 pixels; exact menus, file compatibility and storage capacity depend on the TV model and region.
Choose how to transfer your art

Add images with SmartThings
- Connect and register The Frame in SmartThings. Follow the app’s prompts to complete the TV, account and network setup required for smart services.
- In SmartThings, open your TV’s Art Mode controls and choose Add Your Photos.
- Select the image files on your phone and tap Save on The Frame.
- Choose a saved image to show it in Art Mode. Samsung says you can apply artistic effects or set multiple images to display as a slideshow.
Edit or crop images before sending them: Samsung says photos cannot be edited on the TV itself. Menu wording may differ across models and software versions. Samsung’s artwork instructions

Import images from USB
- Copy your image files to a USB storage device supported by your TV. Samsung US directs users to connect the device to the One Connect Box; check your model’s manual for the correct port and connection details.
- Switch the TV to Art Mode, open My Collection, select the USB device and choose Save.
- Select the images you want and choose Save Selected. Wait for the transfer to finish before removing the USB device.
- Open My Collection > My Photos and select an image to display.
Samsung France says The Frame supports USB mass-storage-class devices, but some devices and files may not be readable; file encoding can be a factor. Prepare images for the screen
Samsung France recommends 3840 × 2160 pixels for a full-screen 16:9 image. Its guidance also lists 800 × 800 pixels as a minimum and 7680 × 4320 pixels as a maximum. These are regional support figures, not a guarantee that every Frame model handles every file identically. Samsung says imported photos display according to the source file’s resolution, so a different aspect ratio or low-resolution image may not fill the screen as intended. Image storage is model-dependent: Samsung’s US product FAQ states a limit of 4 GB or 6 GB depending on the model. Samsung also cautions that certain image formats may not be supported. - If a file will not import, check its format and encoding against your model’s manual.
- If the TV reports a storage issue, account for the model-specific image storage limit and the space already in use.
- If a photo looks cropped or soft, check its aspect ratio and resolution before transferring it again.
Make the art look and behave the way you want
Enter Art Mode
Press the OneRemote’s Power button to switch between TV mode and Art Mode. Samsung says holding Power turns the TV fully off instead of leaving art displayed. The US guide also says Art Mode cannot be permanently disabled. Samsung’s Art Mode guide

Adjust the presentation
Choose a matte style and color to give the image a framed appearance. Samsung’s US instructions also describe SmartThings controls for brightness, color tone, Night Mode, Sleep After and motion-detector sensitivity. The TV can use ambient brightness and color adjustment as well as motion sensing. Samsung cautions that sensor performance depends on the installation and environment; do not block the front sensor. Use the Art Store for catalog artwork
If you want catalog artwork rather than your own files, browse the Art Store from the TV’s Art area. Samsung Canada says you can preview artwork and keep it if free, purchase it, or subscribe to a membership. Its guide lists an internet connection, Samsung Account, acceptance of Smart Hub terms and privacy notice, and Art Store terms as requirements.
