In Firefox for desktop, press Alt to show the Menu bar temporarily. To keep it visible, right-click an empty area of the toolbar or tab strip and select Menu Bar. You can also enable it through Customize Toolbar. [Mozilla Support]
Show the Menu bar temporarily or keep it visible
Reveal it for the moment
Press Alt. If that does not work on your keyboard, try AltGr. Mozilla says Firefox hides the File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Profiles, Tools and Help Menu bar by default. [Mozilla Support]

Keep it on screen
- Right-click an empty area of the toolbar or tab strip.
- Select Menu Bar.
Alternatively, open the Firefox menu button, choose More Tools, then Customize Toolbar. Open Toolbars at the bottom, select Menu Bar, and choose Done. [Mozilla Support]
Restore the Bookmarks toolbar or another toolbar
- Open the Firefox menu button and select More Tools → Customize Toolbar.
- At the bottom, open the Toolbars dropdown.
- Select the toolbar you want, then choose Done.
For the Bookmarks toolbar, choose whether it should be set to Always Show, Never Show or Only Show on New Tab. These desktop steps apply to Windows, macOS and Linux; some Linux menu options vary by desktop environment. [Mozilla Support]

If the Menu bar still appears to be missing
Check full-screen mode
Full-screen mode can hide browser controls. Use the full-screen control in the Firefox menu to leave full-screen mode. Mozilla also lists Command+Shift+F and F11; some computers require Fn+F11. [Mozilla Support]
On Mac, select the Firefox window
macOS shows the menu bar for the selected application. Click the Firefox window if another app is currently selected. [Mozilla Support]

When to reset toolbar settings
If the simpler checks do not help and toolbar controls appear corrupted, Mozilla recommends Firefox Refresh for corrupted toolbar settings. Customize Toolbar also offers Restore Defaults. This resets the default buttons and toolbars, returns vertical tabs to horizontal tabs if they were enabled, and resets the default theme. [Mozilla Support] [Mozilla Support]
