Do both checks: remove the dapp connection in your wallet, then inspect and, if appropriate, revoke token allowances separately on every network where you used the wallet. A revocation is an on-chain transaction and may require gas.
Connection and token approval are different permissions
A wallet connection lets a dapp see your public address. Since blockchain activity is public, the dapp can also view activity associated with that address. Depending on the permissions you grant, a dapp may request that your wallet sign or submit transactions. A connection alone is not the same as permission to transfer your tokens: a token approval is a separate authorization.

An approval, also called an allowance, lets a smart contract access a particular token up to a specified amount. Some approvals allow a contract to spend an effectively unlimited amount. Disconnecting a dapp removes the wallet connection permission; it does not change allowances already recorded on-chain. MetaMask Extension
- Open the account menu.
- Select Dapp connections.
- Choose the dapp you want to disconnect and select Disconnect.
MetaMask Mobile
- Open Explore and find or visit the dapp.
- Tap the dapp’s account icon.
- Choose Disconnect all.
To clear all dapp connections for the selected account in MetaMask, use Settings > Security & Privacy > Clear privacy data. This removes connections, not token approvals.
Check token approvals on each relevant network
Approval state is specific to a network. Check every chain where you connected your wallet or approved a contract; disconnecting on one network does not inspect or change permissions on another.

You can use the approval checker for the relevant network’s block explorer, or a wallet or service that documents support for that network. MetaMask names Etherscan, BscScan and Polygonscan as examples and also lists third-party services including Revoke, Unrekt, approved.zone, beefy.finance and EverRevoke. Their network coverage and interfaces differ, so confirm support for your chain and verify the site address before connecting your wallet.

Review an allowance before revoking it
In the checker, confirm the network, token, spender or contract address, and permitted amount. The spender is the contract receiving authorization; it may not be the same as the dapp’s visible website address. If you do not recognize the spender or the approval was unexpected, do not sign further requests until you have verified the contract address using a trusted block explorer.
Revoke only permissions you intend to remove. Revoking changes the on-chain allowance through a transaction, and network gas may apply. After it is submitted, use the relevant checker or explorer to confirm the approval state has changed. MetaMask also describes setting a custom spending cap for future approval requests, which can limit the amount you authorize rather than granting a larger allowance than you need.

Choose an approval checker carefully
Before using a wallet-native tool, block-explorer checker or third-party service, compare what it supports and what it asks you to do:

- What it can do: Does it only display approvals, or can it also prepare or submit revocations?
- Approval details: Can you clearly identify the token, spender and allowed amount?
- Wallet scope: Are you interacting with the intended account and chain?
- Site authenticity: Have you verified the service’s web address before connecting or signing?
A checker helps you inspect permissions; it does not make an unfamiliar contract safe. Review each proposed wallet request before signing it.
