To silence general pop-ups in AVG AntiVirus Free or AVG Internet Security on Windows, open AVG and go to Menu > Settings > General > Notifications. Under Pop-up notifications treatment, select Silent mode. If you only want quiet while using a full-screen app, use Do Not Disturb Mode instead; other AVG apps have their own notification controls.
Choose the right AVG notification setting
The right setting depends on what you want to stop: all general AVG AntiVirus pop-ups, alerts only during full-screen use, one type of notification in another AVG product, or promotional offers. These controls are separate, so changing one may not affect the others.

- Always suppress general AntiVirus pop-ups: Select Silent mode in AVG AntiVirus settings.
- Silence alerts during full-screen use: Configure Do Not Disturb Mode.
- Stop a specific alert or another AVG app’s notifications: Use that app’s own notification settings.
- Stop product offers: Change the separate offer or privacy options.
Turn off general AVG AntiVirus pop-ups on Windows
- Open AVG AntiVirus.
- Select Menu > Settings.
- Select General > Notifications.
- Under Pop-up notifications treatment, select Silent mode.
AVG says Silent mode prevents pop-ups, alerts, and messages. The instruction is for AVG AntiVirus Free and AVG Internet Security on Windows; it does not establish that every app-specific warning or operating-system notification will be suppressed in every product or release. Silence notifications only while using full-screen apps
Do Not Disturb Mode is intended for full-screen use, not as a general quiet setting for windowed apps. AVG says it detects full-screen apps and adds them to its list. When a listed app is running full screen, the mode can silence notifications from Windows, AVG AntiVirus, and other applications. It does not activate for a listed app running in a window. AVG says the feature is available in AVG AntiVirus Free and AVG Internet Security.

Configure Do Not Disturb Mode
- Open AVG AntiVirus and go to Menu > Settings > Tools > Do Not Disturb Mode.
- Choose whether to silence third-party app alerts and AVG notifications.
- Set any exceptions for apps that should still be allowed to notify you.
- Choose whether new full-screen apps are added automatically and whether AVG notifies you when an app is added.
- If desired, configure the option to pause Windows Updates while the mode is active.

Remove Do Not Disturb Mode
Removing the feature is different from turning off ordinary pop-ups. To remove it, go to Menu > Settings > General > Troubleshooting > Add / modify components, untick Do Not Disturb Mode, and apply the component change.

Disable notifications in other AVG apps
AVG applications use separate switches and paths. Use the instructions for the specific app rather than assuming the AntiVirus Silent mode setting applies to it.
- AVG AntiTrack: Go to Menu > Settings and untick Show notifications for fingerprint changes. Set your preference separately for notifications about blocked tracking attempts.
- AVG Battery Saver: Go to Menu > Settings > General > Notifications and untick the automatic-on and battery reminders you do not want.
- AVG Driver Updater: Go to Menu > Settings > General > Notifications and untick Notify me when my drivers are outdated.
- AVG Secure VPN: Go to Menu > Settings and untick Show Secure VPN notifications.
- AVG Secure Browser: Open browser settings and go to Privacy and security > Site settings > Notifications, then disallow site notifications. Its pop-ups and redirects have a separate control.
- AVG Alarm Clock Xtreme: Go to More > Settings > Notifications and switch off the notification types you do not want.
AVG’s app-specific notification guide covers these settings. Menu names and availability can vary by app and platform.

Stop promotional offers separately
In AVG AntiVirus Free and AVG Internet Security, go to Menu > Settings > General > Notifications > Offers and untick the app-usage data options for offers of AVG products and third-party products. Other AVG products may place similar choices under Personal privacy or a Privacy tab. These offer settings are separate from controls for security notifications.
