To remove cookies and other stored data for one website, go to Settings > Privacy > Data Management > Website Data. To remove all private data at once, use Clear Private Data at the bottom of Data Management. Mozilla warns that the last option cannot be undone.
The most important distinction is that deleting a site from your history is not the same as deleting its cookies or logins. Choose the scope that matches what you want to remove, and keep in mind that these steps apply only to Firefox. Safari uses a separate set of settings, covered at the end of this guide.

Choose the right scope before you delete
Firefox on iOS separates browsing history from the data that websites leave on your phone. Cookies, cached files, offline website data, and saved logins sit outside the history list, so clearing one does not automatically clear the other. The table below shows which option affects what, based on Mozilla’s description of each control.
| Goal | Where to go in Firefox | Removes history entries | Removes site cookies, stored data, or logins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remove one history entry | History, then swipe right on the site name and tap Delete | Yes, that entry only | No. Mozilla states that site data and logins stay in place. |
| Clear recent history | Menu, History, trash icon | Yes, for the chosen range (Today, Today and Yesterday, or Everything) | Not stated by Mozilla for this option |
| Clear one site’s stored data | Settings, Privacy, Data Management, Website Data | Not applicable | Yes, for the selected site |
| Clear all private data | Settings, Privacy, Data Management, Clear Private Data | Yes | Yes, all listed private data categories, and the action cannot be undone |

Clear all private data
Use this option only when you want a full reset of Firefox’s private data on the device. The support article does not say that each category has its own switch in the iOS interface, so treat the list as the categories Firefox includes in its private data rather than a menu of independent toggles.

- This pre-owned product is not Apple certified, but has been professionally inspected, tested and cleaned by Amazon-qualified suppliers.
- There will be no visible cosmetic imperfections when held at an arm’s length.
- This product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied.
- Product may come in generic Box.
- Apple’s support article “Delete your Safari history, cache, and cookies on iPhone” describes Settings > Apps > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
- Safari also has an Advanced > Website Data route for removing cookies and cache while keeping history.
- Apple says clearing Safari history does not clear histories that visited websites or other apps keep on their own.
- Apple also says that blocking all cookies in Safari removes existing cookies and website data and may stop some sign-ins or site features from working. That is a Safari setting and is not a Firefox fix.
If your screen does not match these steps
- Mozilla’s support article was last updated April 8, 2024, and does not name the app version it describes. Menu labels can change between releases, so if a label is missing, look for the closest match under Settings and Privacy.
- If you cannot find Data Management, check that you are in Firefox’s Settings screen and not the iOS Settings app, which has separate options.
- If a site still behaves oddly after clearing its data, sign back in to that site so it can rebuild the data it needs.
