What Wispr Flow does
Flow turns spoken words into text in the app where you are working. Wispr describes support for more than 100 languages and says Flow can learn names and jargon. That makes it relevant to people who want to dictate messages, notes, or drafts across different apps, rather than use a feature tied to one document editor.

Wispr also offers Notetaker, a separate meeting-oriented feature for recording and working with meeting notes. The product page lists Notetaker for Mac and Windows; that is a narrower platform range than Flow dictation itself. Meeting features and retained history can also depend on the plan, so check the feature list for the account and device you intend to use.

Wispr lists Free at $0. Its current plan comparison gives the free allowance as 2,000 words per week on desktop and 1,000 words per week on mobile. The company’s homepage FAQ describes the free offer as 2,000 words per week without the same platform breakdown. Because Wispr’s own pages present the allowance differently, confirm the cap shown in the live plan view for your platform before relying on a particular number.

- International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions.
The free plan is most useful for trying the workflow or dictating occasionally. A weekly word ceiling can become restrictive if you dictate regularly, produce long drafts, or use Flow on both a computer and a phone. Do not assume that the desktop allowance applies to mobile as well.
When Pro may make sense
Wispr’s published plan information lists Pro at $15 per user per month, or $144 per user per year in the Help Center plan article updated September 19, 2026. The annual amount works out to $12 per month when averaged across the year; it is an annual charge, not the monthly billing price. Check the live pricing page for the current amount, billing period, and currency before subscribing.

Pro adds unlimited dictation and longer Notetaker history, along with features such as early access to features and priority support. Wispr’s documentation also describes shared dictionaries and snippets, centralized billing, and user management among paid-plan capabilities. Those collaboration and administration features may belong to team-oriented tiers rather than an individual Pro subscription. Wispr currently presents Free, Pro, Growth, and Enterprise on its pricing page, while Help Center materials may use team-focused labels; compare the exact tier details instead of treating every paid feature as included in Pro.

- Language support: Wispr says Flow supports more than 100 languages.
Platform availability and feature coverage can change. Verify that the specific feature you need—not just the Flow app—is available on your device and plan.

Privacy: transcription is cloud-based
Wispr says Flow transcription happens in the cloud: dictated audio is processed remotely to produce text. That means the service is not an offline dictation tool, and speech may leave your device as part of its normal operation.
Wispr says “Improve the model for everyone” is on by default for Free and Pro, with an option to turn it off during onboarding or in the relevant controls. The company says the setting is off for Enterprise and administrators cannot re-enable it. Storage controls govern whether transcripts, audio, and dictation history are retained for features such as persistence and cross-device access. Review the current privacy policy and settings for your account before dictating confidential or regulated information.

Wispr also cites SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and describes HIPAA-related support involving a Business Associate Agreement. Those statements do not by themselves establish that every account, configuration, or use is compliant. Organizations handling protected or regulated data should confirm the applicable agreement, configuration, and scope directly with Wispr.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
Wispr’s product and plan pages establish its stated features, supported platforms, limits, and privacy controls. They do not establish how accurately Flow will transcribe a particular person, how much editing its output will need, or whether it is faster than a device’s built-in dictation. Those results depend on factors such as speech, vocabulary, environment, and the apps involved; no independent accuracy benchmark is established here.

If those qualities determine whether the service is worthwhile for you, use the free allowance to test representative tasks: a short message, a longer passage, and any names or specialized terms you regularly dictate. Review the output and corrections in the apps you actually use, and check how the weekly allowance is counted on each platform.
