Win11Debloat is a PowerShell script that can remove preinstalled apps and change Windows settings, including privacy, appearance, Start/Search, taskbar, File Explorer, and Windows Update behavior. To use it cautiously, get the script and instructions from the official Raphire Win11Debloat repository, check that they match the release you have, select only changes you want, and prepare a recovery option first. The project supports Windows 10 and Windows 11, but some features differ by Windows version.
What Win11Debloat changes—and what it does not promise
Win11Debloat is a PowerShell script maintained in the Raphire GitHub project. Its README describes features for removing preinstalled apps, changing telemetry-related settings, and adjusting Windows interface and system behavior. The available selections span several areas, and a change that is useful to one person may disrupt another person’s workflow.

The project does not provide independently measured results or quantified outcomes for speed, memory use, or privacy improvement. Treat Win11Debloat as a way to make particular configuration changes—not as a guaranteed performance boost or a measured privacy solution.

The project README cautions: “Great care went into making sure this script does not unintentionally break any OS functionality, but use at your own risk!” That is the maintainers’ warning, not an independent safety certification.

Review the options before running the script
Use the official repository and its wiki as your starting points. The README links to current releases and the wiki; check the instructions for the specific release you intend to run because the feature list and command behavior can change.
The README describes both an online quick-run method and a manual download from GitHub releases. The quick-run approach downloads and launches code; downloading the release first gives you an opportunity to inspect its files before running them. Either way, Win11Debloat requires administrator access. Microsoft explains that PowerShell scripts can contain valid PowerShell commands and that execution policy controls whether scripts may run. Elevation is a reason to review what you are selecting, not to treat the script as a harmless cosmetic tool.
Before choosing an option, ask:
- Do you use the app or feature the selection changes?
- Does it only alter appearance, or does it change system behavior?
- Does the project identify the option as version-specific?
- Does the project document a way to reverse it?
The README organizes choices under app removal, privacy and suggested content, AI features, system, Windows Update, appearance, Start/Search, taskbar, File Explorer, multitasking, optional Windows features, and advanced features. Read the current description for each selection rather than applying a broad preset simply because it is available.

Account for less-obvious effects
The project wiki says some settings may show “managed by your organization” because Win11Debloat uses local machine policies for certain Windows and Edge settings. This message can appear on a personal PC; the wiki attributes it to those local policies.
The wiki also notes that removing Get Help can affect access to some troubleshooters Microsoft moved into that app. It says Get Help can be reinstalled through Microsoft Store. Consider that dependency before removing an app whose purpose may not be obvious from its name.
Prepare Windows recovery before substantial changes
Microsoft describes System Protection as a Windows recovery feature that safeguards system settings by creating restore points. It is not enabled by default, so check its status rather than assuming a restore point exists.

System Restore can return system files, registry settings, and installed programs to the state captured in a selected restore point. It is a recovery option, not a full backup of personal files. Whether it can help depends on System Protection having been enabled and on suitable restore points being available for the device.
Run only the changes you intend to make
Once you have reviewed the release-specific guidance and prepared recovery, follow the current README or wiki instructions for running that release. The project’s online quick-run command and release ZIP route are described there; avoid copying a command from an outdated guide because the project’s command-line behavior can change.
When the script presents its feature selections, enable only the changes that meet a specific need. Review app removals and system-behavior options especially carefully; an interface adjustment and an app removal do not have the same consequences. If you are unsure what a selection does on your Windows version, leave it unchanged until you have checked the project’s current documentation.

Undo changes if something stops working
The project documents several recovery routes, with important limits: most tweaks can be reversed by running the script again and unchecking the change; registry backups can restore system registry settings changed by the script; and almost all removed apps can be reinstalled through Microsoft Store. These are the project’s stated options, not a guarantee that every change or app will be recoverable in every configuration.
If those routes do not resolve the problem, Windows System Restore may return system files, registry settings, and installed programs to a chosen restore point, if one is available. It does not replace a backup of personal files.
