Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUse Browserless to render an Indian website URL—or custom HTML for a designed card—then save the returned image bytes somewhere publicly reachable and reference that file in your page’s Open Graph og:image metadata. A screenshot by itself does not publish a social preview. You need an API token, a suitable capture, a hosted image URL, and the metadata on the page you want shared.
Choose what Browserless should render
For a screenshot of a live page, send its URL to Browserless. For a deliberate share card, send custom HTML and CSS that lays out the title, image, and branding. A page screenshot can include navigation, overlays, or long content; a designed card gives you control over composition.

|---|---|---|
| Capture the URL | Preserving a view of the rendered target page | Page layout, overlays, long content, and load state may make it a poor share card. |
| Render supplied HTML | Creating a deliberate title, image, and branding card | You must compose and maintain the card markup and styles. |
| Capture one element or a clip | Reusing a well-framed element already on the page | It depends on a stable selector or accurate clip coordinates. |
| Add a country proxy | Reproducing content that changes by geography | Proxy use adds a requirement to check endpoint support and country availability. |
An Indian domain does not by itself require India-based browser egress. Use country targeting only when the page changes according to location, and verify the resulting page state.

Capture the page with Browserless
Browserless documents a REST screenshot endpoint that accepts a URL and optional Puppeteer-style screenshot options. Send a POST request to /screenshot with your API token. Its current REST API documentation describes PNG, JPEG, and WebP output; check the response status and content type before saving the bytes. See the Browserless Screenshot API for the endpoint’s current request format and options.
#1 Best Overall
- This book helps explain why we all complain about our phones, but still feel unable to put them down. It gives little daily changes we all can make to reverse our bad technology habits.
- SIZE: 8.5 x 5.5"
- LENGTH: 48 pages
- Bound with durable, high quality silver double-loop wire-o and printed on bright white 130# cover stock.
- Printed and manufactured in the U.S.A.
Example request
Replace YOUR_API_TOKEN with your Browserless token and the example URL with the page you want to capture. This request asks for a full-page PNG:
curl -X POST "https://production-sfo.browserless.io/screenshot?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN"
-H "Content-Type: application/json"
-d '{"url":"https://example.in","options":{"fullPage":true,"type":"png"}}'
--output preview.png
Use the Browserless endpoint and host shown for your account if they differ from this example. The response is image data; Browserless’s REST API returns binary output, while BrowserQL uses base64 output.
Framing, timing, and lazy-loaded content
- Set a viewport suited to the card. Capture a particular element with a documented selector option, or use a clip when you need a defined region.
- Wait for the relevant selector or other documented wait condition when scripts load content asynchronously.
- For lazy-loaded content, Browserless’s screenshot FAQ recommends
scrollPage: true. Combine it withfullPage: trueonly if the whole page is wanted. - Prefer supplied HTML or a carefully framed selector/clip when a full-page capture would be too long or visually cluttered for a share image.
Check Browserless’s screenshot options and screenshot recipes for supported parameters before relying on a particular option.
Host the image and add Open Graph metadata
Save the generated file at a stable URL that social preview consumers can fetch. Then add the Open Graph properties to the head of the page that will be shared. The Open Graph protocol identifies og:title, og:type, og:image, and og:url as required properties. When you specify an image, also provide descriptive og:image:alt text.
<head>
<meta property="og:title" content="Your page title">
<meta property="og:type" content="website">
<meta property="og:image" content="https://cdn.example.in/previews/page.png">
<meta property="og:url" content="https://example.in/page">
<meta property="og:image:alt" content="A short description of the preview image">
</head>
Use the actual canonical page URL for og:url and the publicly reachable image address for og:image. The Open Graph protocol’s definitions are at ogp.me.
Decide whether India-specific rendering is needed
An Indian website URL simply tells Browserless which page to navigate to. That is different from making the browser appear to visit from India. If a page varies by visitor country, language, or IP address, Browserless documents proxy country selection and locale matching; support can differ by endpoint, and datacenter coverage spans fewer countries than residential coverage. Confirm that the screenshot endpoint supports the parameters you intend to use and that the required country is available before depending on an India-origin view. See Browserless proxy documentation.
Check the result before publishing
- Open the saved image and check that the intended subject is visible, the crop is suitable, and the render is not blank or obstructed.
- Open the hosted image URL outside your logged-in session and confirm it resolves to the image file.
- Inspect the page head and confirm the Open Graph image URL and canonical URL are the intended ones.
- Check the page as an external consumer would. Preview services may cache results; the reviewed documentation does not establish a universal cache-refresh procedure.
Troubleshoot common capture problems
Blank or white image
The page may not have finished rendering, or it may be blocking automation. Add an appropriate documented wait condition and inspect the target page for a CAPTCHA or access-denied response.
CAPTCHA, 403, or access-denied screen
Browserless lists CAPTCHA challenges, access-denied pages, and blank captures among signs that a target may be blocking automation. Its documentation describes /unblock for some protections and suggests residential proxies for best results, but neither is a guarantee against every bot defense. See Browserless’s unblock guidance.
Missing content or broken elements
Asynchronous scripts may not have completed; wait for the relevant selector or another supported condition. Lazy-loaded content may not be present until the page is scrolled; use scrollPage: true as described in Browserless’s screenshot FAQ.
Image is technically valid but makes a poor preview
A successful full-page screenshot can still be an unsuitable card if the page is lengthy, cluttered, or poorly cropped. Render purpose-built HTML, or capture a stable element or clip that frames the intended content.
Image file works, but no social preview appears
Generating an image does not update page metadata. Confirm that the shared page has the right og:image value and that its image URL is reachable by external consumers. Preview caching may also affect what a consumer displays; there is no universal refresh procedure established by the cited documentation.

ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API if you would rather not configure a browser capture yourself. Its API accepts a URL and returns an image or PDF; use this cURL example to save a WebP:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.in -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before capture; bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed. An MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and the Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. After obtaining an image, you still need to host it and set the page’s og:image metadata.
