Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can use Gemini Canvas to create an interactive 3D scene that runs as a browser app: describe the scene and controls, preview the generated app, then refine its code and behavior. That is different from generating a downloadable 3D asset. The consulted Google documentation describes Canvas app and code creation, but does not establish a native workflow for exporting files such as GLB, glTF, OBJ, or STL.
What Gemini can make: a browser scene, not a confirmed 3D file export
Gemini Canvas is the practical route when you want a 3D scene people can interact with in a browser. Google describes Canvas as a place to create and edit apps and code, request code updates, preview an app, and inspect preview errors and logs. It does not describe Canvas as a dedicated 3D modeling tool or document a 3D model-file export path. Google’s Canvas guide
So, if by “3D model” you mean something you can rotate, zoom, or click inside a web page, ask Gemini to build an interactive browser app. If you mean a mesh file to download and use in a separate 3D editor, game engine, or printing workflow, the consulted documentation does not establish that Gemini Canvas can produce or export one. Treat the live preview as the test of whether the generated scene actually works.
Create an interactive 3D scene in Gemini Canvas
- Open Canvas in Gemini. Start an app or code creation request in Canvas. The cited Canvas help page is for desktop; check Google’s current Gemini interface and account availability if you do not see the feature.
- Describe the scene and interactions. Specify the subject, visual style, and a short list of controls. For example: “Create a self-contained interactive browser app showing a low-poly rotating solar system. Let me drag to orbit, use the wheel to zoom, and click a planet to show its name. Keep labels readable and add a reset-view button.” This is a sample prompt, not a tested prompt or a guarantee of a particular result.
- Ask for a small first version. Start with one clear scene and a few essential interactions rather than a long feature list. If you want the app to use a particular browser 3D library, name it in your request; Google’s Canvas documentation does not guarantee that a specific library or implementation will be used.
- Run the preview and check the controls. Try the interactions yourself: drag, zoom, select an object, and reset the view if those controls were requested. Look for visible problems such as hard-to-read labels, confusing scale, poor lighting, or a camera that moves unexpectedly.
- Refine one issue at a time. Tell Gemini what you observed and what you want changed—for example, “Keep the camera centered on the scene while I orbit” or “Make the planet labels readable against the background.” Re-preview after each change so you can tell whether the requested fix worked.
- Inspect the code and preview diagnostics. Canvas allows direct code editing and requests to update app code. Its preview includes a console for errors and logs, which can help identify why an interaction or part of the scene is failing. Google’s Canvas guide
Choose between Canvas and Gems from Google Labs
| Route | What the documentation describes | Fit for an interactive 3D scene | Eligibility and limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gemini Canvas | App and code creation, code updates, direct code editing, and preview diagnostics. Google Canvas help | Best-aligned route of these two when you want a custom browser scene and want to inspect or refine its code. A working 3D result is not guaranteed; verify the preview. | The cited guide describes Canvas on desktop. The cited documentation does not establish native 3D model-file export. |
| Gems from Google Labs | Experimental AI mini-apps or custom workflows created and edited with natural-language descriptions. Google’s Gems from Google Labs help | Could suit a prompt-created interactive workflow, but Google does not describe this feature as a 3D model generator. | The help page says a personal Google Account and age 18 or older are required; the feature is English-only and available on desktop in the Gemini web app. |
Share the app carefully
Before sharing a Canvas app, review its information and what it contains. Google says that anyone with a public app link can view and change data associated with the app. Do not assume a public link is view-only; decide whether the app and its associated data are appropriate to share under those conditions. - 【Wide Compatibility】3D mobile VR headsets set compatible with 5.0-7.0 inch smartphones.
Do not confuse a research-report simulator with a general 3D creator
Google’s Deep Research documentation says reports may include interactive simulators for Google AI Ultra users. That is a visualization feature within a research report, not documentation of a general-purpose authoring tool for custom 3D scenes or downloadable model files. Google’s Deep Research help
