Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Create a clearly titled WordPress page, explain the opt-out process your site actually supports, and link to it from your privacy policy or footer. The page itself is informational: visitors need a working form, preference link, or consent control to submit and record a choice.
Create the page in WordPress
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Pages → Add New. The exact label can vary slightly by WordPress version or site configuration.
- Title the page Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
- Write instructions that reflect your site’s actual data practices. Explain how visitors submit a request, what information you need to process it, and what confirmation they should expect. Do not promise a process or outcome your site has not implemented.
- Add a working submission route if visitors need to make their choice through your site. This could be a form, a link to a preference control, or a control provided by a consent-management tool.
- Publish the page and add a visible link to it from your privacy policy and/or site footer.
- Open the published page in a logged-out browser. Check that its links and form work on desktop and mobile.
Choose how visitors will submit an opt-out
You can keep the page informational and direct visitors to a separately configured form or preference tool, embed a plugin-provided form, or use a consent-management plugin’s opt-out link. The right setup depends on how your site handles requests and where it stores visitor choices.

Embed a form with a shortcode
The WordPress.org listing for FAZ Cookie Manager documents a [faz_do_not_sell] shortcode that displays an opt-out form when placed on a page, such as a privacy policy. The listing says submissions are logged locally and the administrator is notified. These are claims in the plugin listing, not an independent audit; verify the current behavior and configuration on your site before relying on them.
Use a consent plugin’s opt-out link
The WordPress.org listing for CookieYes documents installation through Plugins → Add New, activation, and a CCPA/CPRA opt-out link, along with cookie and policy-page tools. Its listing describes web-app integration as optional. Check the plugin’s current setup instructions and settings to confirm how the link works on your installation.
#1 Best Overall
- No more exposed information in unprotected notary journals. This product shields clients' confidential information from prying eyes. It allows the Notary Public to keep the journal open during the transaction, as NO prior client information is viewable.
- Shields clients' AND Notaries Public' confidential information
- GLBA and HIPAA require strict confidentiality policies and procedures. Notary Privacy Guard is a compliance tool for the professional Notary Public.
- Decreases Notary Public's liability from exposing client information
- Journal column headers are printed on the Notary Privacy Guard, no having to peek underneath to complete the journal entry. Becomes part of the journal and also acts as a place marker.
Compare plugin features before choosing
The WordPress.org listing for WPLP Cookie Consent describes a CCPA/CPRA opt-out link, cookie scanning, consent logging, and script/content blocking. It lists geo-targeted banners among premium features and says cookie scanning may connect to its service. Confirm current features and terms directly with the plugin before installing or relying on them.
When comparing tools, check whether each provides a link or embedded form, scans cookies or generates policy pages, where it stores consent records, whether the feature you need is free or paid, compatibility with your WordPress setup, and how visitors can revisit or change their choices. Plugin directory descriptions explain advertised functionality; they do not establish that a tool is suitable for every site.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Make the page useful and avoid overpromising
- Describe the actual steps a visitor should take, including any form or preference link.
- Ask only for information your site needs to handle the request, and describe what happens after submission accurately.
- Test the full visitor path, including confirmation and any way to change a saved preference.
- Keep the page linked somewhere visitors can find it, such as the privacy policy or footer.
Does publishing the page make a site compliant?
No. A page can explain an opt-out, but publishing one does not by itself show that a site meets applicable legal requirements. Applicability depends on the site’s circumstances and current law. Plugin listings do not determine a site’s obligations; consult current official guidance or a qualified legal professional about your situation.
