To create a 24/7 YouTube radio stream with visuals, prepare music you are licensed to broadcast, put the audio and visual feed through an encoder, connect it to YouTube Live with your stream URL and key, then test and monitor the broadcast. The hard parts are not just getting online: music rights, reliable continuity, and YouTube’s replay limits all need a plan.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified, has live streaming enabled, and has had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s current guidance also says creators must be at least 16 years old. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Music rights that cover live broadcasting on YouTube, plus any archive or replay you intend to keep.
- An encoder that can send synchronized audio and video to YouTube. Software is sufficient for many setups; dedicated hardware is optional.
- A stable upload connection, a visual source such as a still image or animated scene, and a plan for monitoring and recovery.
YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a server URL and stream key to connect the encoder to Live Control Room. Encoder streams can include overlays and can be sent from software or hardware. See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Prepare the audio and visual program
Choose music you are entitled to broadcast
Do not assume that music playable in a consumer streaming app is cleared for rebroadcast. YouTube’s Live Streaming Terms and Conditions place responsibility on the broadcaster to have the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. Check that your license covers YouTube live use, the territories you serve, monetization if applicable, and any replay or archive.
Build a feed with both sound and picture
Choose a visual permitted for your stream—a still, animated scene, or other imagery—and add it as a source in your encoder alongside the audio. The encoder sends the combined program feed to YouTube. The exact controls vary by encoder, so confirm that your chosen software or hardware can keep the visual active and the audio playing for the intended duration. YouTube’s encoder guide describes software and hardware approaches; a standalone encoder is not required.
#1 Best Overall
- [XLR Mic Input] One XLR microphone input interface is set on the gaming audio mixer, which is great to up your audio quality with your XLR setup. The XLR mixer is a stepping stone to upgrade your live streaming. Audio mixer offered built-in 48V phantom power which opens up more choices for mics. Directly use it with your condenser microphone but do not solve added peripherals. (NOT available for USB mic)
- [Individual Channel Control] Gaming audio mixer for one mic recording with smooth volume slider fader take your streaming recording to a whole new level with full pleasure. Four independent channels set on the DJ mixer give audio volume of the MICROPHONE, LINE IN, HEADPHONE, and LINE OUT channels individual control. Configurable on the PC audio mixer instead of just operating on your game or streaming software.
- [Mute and Monitor] The front mute and monitor buttons but not at the back, make it easier to get the audio interface use. Ability to mute audio, the audio mixer for streaming prevents background noise from damaging your live broadcast. The sturdy-built control button allow you to operate freely and easily during live streaming.

Flowing or frozen RGB color rotation in a decent pace presents a greatly strong impression as a "light show" to your audience. Even a streaming equipment accessory will not be dull looking when video production.
Create the YouTube broadcast and connect your encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create a live stream or schedule one, then follow YouTube’s on-screen setup.
- In the stream settings, copy the server URL and stream key shown for the broadcast.
- In your encoder’s streaming destination settings, enter the YouTube server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, send it to viewers, or include it in screenshots.
- Start sending the feed from the encoder. Wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room, check that picture and sound are correct, and use YouTube’s on-screen go-live workflow.
The labels and layout can change; follow the current Live Control Room prompts. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover the connection sequence.
Choose output settings and test the real feed
Set resolution and bitrate to match both your quality needs and the upload connection you can sustain. YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate examples are:
Rank #2
- Analog mixing and equalization for pure sound
- Direct mixing of PC/gaming sounds into the streaming output
- Ultra-low noise analog mixer for streaming, podcasting and recording
- Stereo USB audio interface to connect your computer or mobile device
| Output | YouTube-recommended H.264 bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 480p at 30 fps | 3 Mbps |
These are YouTube recommendations, not guarantees that a connection will remain stable at those settings. The figures are for H.264; codec and network conditions matter. YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate, and a keyframe interval of about 2 seconds, not longer than 4 seconds. Check YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for the current guidance.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Run an upload-speed test from the location and connection you will use for streaming. Leave headroom rather than setting the stream at the connection’s maximum measured upload speed.
- Make a private or unlisted test broadcast with the actual audio and visual sources. Test movement as well as still scenes, and listen for gaps, clipping, and unwanted noise.
- Check the Live Control Room preview and stream-health messages. Look for frozen or missing visuals, audio problems, dropped frames, and encoder warnings.
- Monitor the stream during operation and check any local recording for file integrity. YouTube’s encoder guidance and live-streaming tips recommend testing before broadcast and monitoring stream health.
Plan continuity, archives, and viewer rewind
A continuous feed may keep a channel live, but do not promise viewers a complete replay from one very long event. YouTube says a live stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. See YouTube’s live archive guidance and DVR guidance.

- Compact, feature-rich livestreaming USB audio mixer provides high-quality sound for desktop audio production
- Plug-and-play connectivity to computer or mobile device (no special drivers required)
- Loopback function makes it easy to mix mic and instrument inputs with background music, game sounds, or other audio input from a computer – and send the stereo mix back to the computer for streaming
- High-performance A/D converter with resolution up to 24-bit/192 kHz provides crystal-clear output for voice and instruments
- Equipped with a single mic input (XLR or ¼"), two LINE inputs for guitar and keyboard, and USB-C input for connecting to a computer
- If a replay matters, keep a separate local recording and verify the file, rather than relying only on YouTube’s automatic archive.
- Consider shorter scheduled events if reliable replays or rewind matter to your audience. Shorter events do not guarantee a particular distribution or audience outcome.
- Check the current Studio behavior before choosing a restart schedule. YouTube’s documentation does not establish one universal restart cadence or guarantee that a specific automation method will work.
- Plan for encoder, computer or hardware, power, storage, network, and audio-source interruptions. For an unattended operation, assign someone to monitor and respond; YouTube does not guarantee your 24/7 availability.
These precautions follow YouTube’s live-streaming tips, which include monitoring audio/video quality and checking local archive integrity.
Protect the broadcast from music-rights interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A stream can be interrupted or terminated if a match is detected. Even music you have licensed may be interrupted if the rights holder has not added your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm the license scope and ask the rights holder whether your channel can be allowlisted before relying on that music. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its Live Streaming Terms and Conditions.

Encoder options: software or dedicated hardware
A software encoder can combine audio and visuals and send them to YouTube; dedicated hardware is an optional route, not a prerequisite. YouTube lists the AJA HELO Plus as a standalone H.264 encoder and describes an optional scheduling feature for sending prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. Treat this as an advanced hardware option and verify its current capabilities and compatibility with your workflow in YouTube’s encoder directory and guide.
