Your channel must be eligible for live streaming, the narration, music, ambience, and visuals must be cleared for use, and the encoder and internet connection need a recovery plan. You can run the encoder on your own equipment or use a cloud service that loops uploaded video.
Check that your channel can livestream
Before preparing the program, verify that the channel is eligible. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days. Its Help page also says livestreamers must be at least 16. Enable live streaming ahead of time, rather than waiting until you are ready to launch; YouTube may require activation before the first broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
Prepare a continuous yoga nidra program
Build a loop that works as audio first
Yoga nidra is often consumed with eyes closed, so narration and sound continuity matter at least as much as the visual. Assemble the spoken practice, pauses, and any ambient audio into a program that can repeat without a jarring cut, sudden volume jump, or long accidental silence. Listen through the transitions and check that the narration remains intelligible at a comfortable level.
Clear every element for livestreaming
Confirm that you have permission to livestream and, if you plan to keep the broadcast archive, retain each component: spoken practice, music, ambient sounds, artwork, and looped video. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A detected match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream, a warning, or an interruption or termination. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption: YouTube says the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder about live use, territories, monetization, archived broadcasts, and allowlisting before relying on the material. This is a practical rights checklist, not legal advice. Set up the YouTube broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio. Create or schedule a live event in Live Control Room. Choose the title, description, thumbnail, privacy, and other event details.
- Choose the stream format before starting. Decide whether the program is horizontal or vertical and set the relevant format options before the broadcast begins; YouTube notes that some format choices cannot be added after a stream has started.
- Select encoder streaming. For a pre-produced continuous program, an encoder sends the media feed to YouTube. YouTube describes encoders as useful for overlays and external audio/video equipment. In Live Control Room, copy the stream key and enter it in the encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or include it in a recording.
- Configure the encoder against YouTube’s current requirements. YouTube recommends RTMPS and documents H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), and a recommended two-second keyframe interval. Confirm the latest settings and bitrate guidance on YouTube’s live encoder settings page when configuring your chosen encoder, since recommendations can change.
- Test privately or unlisted. Run the exact audio and visual loop you intend to broadcast. Check for gaps, abrupt transitions, clipping, and any content you have not cleared for streaming and archiving.
- Start the encoder and check Live Control Room. Wait for YouTube to show that it is receiving a healthy incoming feed before making the event public. Keep a way to notice feed, power, or internet failures.
Keep the stream running continuously
A 24/7 event needs an outgoing media feed that continues; YouTube’s Live Streaming API describes a 24/7 scenario where the broadcaster does not stop sending video. That describes how the scenario operates, not a promise of uninterrupted service. If your encoder is on a local computer, that computer, its power, and its internet connection become dependencies. Monitor the feed and decide in advance how you will detect a failure and restart or reconnect the encoder. YouTube’s API documentation is at Understanding Broadcasts and Streams.
Choosing equipment
YouTube supports encoder streaming but does not endorse a particular device. If shopping for hardware, compare continuous-duty suitability, RTMPS support, compatibility with YouTube’s current video and audio settings, monitoring and reconnection features, and how the setup maintains a stable feed. No specific model or independent reliability result is established here; check the current YouTube settings against the device you are considering.
