Can LambdaTest convert a webpage to PDF?
The LambdaTest product pages reviewed describe browser testing and do not establish a built-in webpage-to-PDF feature. That is a limit of the reviewed pages, not proof that no such capability exists elsewhere in the current product. If you use LambdaTest to inspect a page, treat it as the browser-testing environment; generate the PDF using the browser or automation method available to you.

For one page, browser printing is simplest. For repeatable jobs, automate PDF generation with Playwright or Chrome Headless. Save a webpage as PDF manually
- Open the webpage in a desktop browser.
- Open the browser’s Print dialog using its menu or print shortcut.
- Choose Save as PDF as the destination or printer.
- Review the print preview. Check page breaks, orientation, margins, and whether important content is missing.
- Save the PDF.
Menu labels and locations vary by browser and version, so use the general Print workflow rather than expecting identical click paths everywhere. The print preview is important: many pages use print-specific styles that hide navigation or rearrange content.

Generate PDFs automatically with Playwright
Playwright’s page.pdf() generates a PDF using print CSS media by default. The following Node.js example opens a page, waits for the page load event, and writes a PDF:

})();Install Playwright and its browser runtime in your project before running the script. The load event does not guarantee that every page’s asynchronous or lazy-loaded content has finished rendering; add a page-specific wait when necessary and inspect the PDF.
Playwright supports paper format, margins, scale, page ranges, headers and footers, print backgrounds, and CSS page-size preference. For screen rather than print styling, emulate screen media before calling page.pdf(). See the Playwright Page API documentation.

Useful Playwright options
format: choose a paper format such as Letter or A4.widthandheight: set custom page dimensions.margin: control page margins.printBackground: include background graphics; its default isfalse.preferCSSPageSize: prioritize dimensions declared by the page’s CSS@pagerule.scale: adjust the rendered content scale.pageRanges: select which PDF pages to include.displayHeaderFooter,headerTemplate, andfooterTemplate: add PDF headers or footers. Template scripts are not evaluated, and page styles do not apply inside those templates.
Playwright also notes that PDF generation modifies colors for printing by default. CSS -webkit-print-color-adjust can request exact colors. If the result must match the screen layout, call await page.emulateMedia({ media: 'screen' }) before page.pdf().
Generate a PDF with Chrome Headless
Chrome Headless can print a URL to PDF from the command line:
chrome --headless --print-to-pdf="page.pdf" "https://example.com"Chrome documents --no-pdf-header-footer to omit its PDF header and footer, and --timeout to wait before capture. A timeout is only a fixed wait; it does not confirm that every dynamically loaded element is ready. Check the resulting file for missing content. See Chrome Headless documentation.

Fix common PDF output problems
The PDF looks different from the screen
Print CSS is applied by default in Playwright and can also affect browser printing. The page may hide navigation, change its layout, or restyle elements. If screen styling is the intended output, emulate screen media in Playwright before generating the PDF.

In Playwright, enable printBackground; it defaults to false. If printed colors still differ, account for print color adjustment: the documentation notes that PDF generation modifies colors for printing by default, and CSS -webkit-print-color-adjust can request exact colors.
Paper size, margins, or scale are wrong
Choose a format such as Letter or A4, set explicit width and height if you need custom dimensions, and adjust margins or scale. If the page defines its own @page size, consider preferCSSPageSize. Recheck the output because a setting that suits one site may not suit another.

Dynamic content is missing
Wait for the content you need rather than assuming navigation completion means the page is fully rendered. Chrome’s documented timeout waits for a specified period but cannot establish that all asynchronous content is ready. With Playwright, wait for a relevant selector or page-specific condition, then inspect the PDF.
Page breaks clip or split content
A PDF is paginated according to print layout and paper dimensions; it is not a single, full-page screenshot. Review long pages for awkward breaks or clipped content, and adjust print CSS, paper size, margins, or scale as appropriate.
