Yes. Buffer documents an MCP integration for Claude that can let you create or schedule posts and retrieve saved ideas, once you connect and authorize the integration. Start in Buffer’s Apps & Integrations > Integrations area, follow the current Claude setup steps, then verify any requested action in Buffer before relying on it.
What the Claude–Buffer integration does
Buffer’s MCP server connects Buffer to Claude and other compatible AI clients. Anthropic describes connectors as tools that let Claude understand and take action in connected services. Buffer’s examples include asking an assistant to draft or schedule content and to retrieve ideas saved in Buffer. These are capabilities to request, not permission for Claude to publish without an authorized connection.

For example, Buffer gives prompts such as “Share this as a LinkedIn post in Buffer tomorrow at 9am” and “What ideas do I have saved in Buffer?” Treat a scheduling request as an instruction for Claude to carry out through the connected tools, then check the result and timing in Buffer. Buffer’s setup guide and examples are at Using Buffer’s MCP server. Anthropic’s explanation of connectors is in Connect your tools to unlock a smarter, more capable AI companion.

- Open Buffer’s integration settings. In Buffer, open your profile menu and choose Apps & Integrations > Integrations.
- Select Claude. Buffer lists Claude among the clients with setup guidance. Follow the instructions displayed for the current client and authentication method.
- Authorize the connection. If the setup uses OAuth, select Connect and complete the authorization flow. Some tools may instead ask for a Buffer API key; use the current instructions shown for that client and keep the key private.
- Set the scope of your requests. Tell Claude what it may do—for example, draft posts for your review or schedule only when you explicitly ask. Enable only the tools relevant to that workflow.
- Test with a low-risk request. Ask for a draft or saved-ideas lookup first. Check in Buffer that the content, destination channel, and any schedule appear as intended before asking the assistant to make a consequential change.
Authentication choices and interface labels can change, so use Buffer’s client-specific steps rather than assuming every Claude setup uses the same flow.

What you can ask Claude to do
Create or edit content
Buffer says its API can create and edit posts, including text, media supplied by a public link, and channel-specific features. The MCP workflow lets you make such requests in natural language, but the exact available actions depend on the connected tools and the destination channel. Review copy, attached media, and channel selection in Buffer before publication.
Schedule posts
You can ask Claude to schedule a post for a specified channel and time, as in Buffer’s LinkedIn example. Be explicit about the date, time zone, and channel if there is room for ambiguity. Confirm the queued post and its scheduled time in Buffer; a prompt alone does not establish that the action succeeded.

Find saved ideas
Buffer’s example asks Claude to report ideas saved in Buffer. This is a retrieval use case: the assistant can only return information available through the connected integration and the permissions granted to it.

Connecting Claude does not make every action available on every network. Buffer’s channel table shows that publishing, analytics, and engagement support differ among services such as Facebook Pages, Instagram Business or Creator accounts, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, and Bluesky. Access also depends on the connected account and its permissions. Channel authorization can expire, in which case the account may need to be reconnected.

Buffer remains responsible for sending scheduled content to connected social channels. As Buffer puts it, “When you use Buffer’s API, we still handle publishing to each connected social channel for you.” See What is Buffer’s API? and consult the current channel capabilities table for channel-specific support.
Claude integration versus Buffer’s API
The MCP server is the practical route when you want to ask Claude to work with Buffer in natural language. Buffer also offers a GraphQL API for developers building their own integrations. Buffer says its current API is available on every plan, including Free, but plan limits and feature details can change; check Buffer’s current terms before depending on a particular capability. The current API is distinct from Buffer’s legacy API. API access does not make a social channel support features that Buffer or that network does not provide.

Review access and disconnect when needed
MCP tools can interact with external services, so connect only a source you trust and review the requests Claude makes. Anthropic advises users to enable only relevant tools and to be careful with connectors that can access or act in services. Its guidance is at Building custom connectors via remote MCP.

To inspect or revoke an active Buffer integration, go to Settings > API, open the Personal Access tab, and review Active Integrations. Buffer says removing a client there revokes its access straight away. If you disconnect, Claude will no longer be able to use that Buffer integration until you connect it again.
