For the Logitech G29, set the Platform Mode switch to PS4 before connecting the wheel. The switch is on the top of the wheel’s inner frame, just behind the RPM indicator lights. These instructions are specific to the G29; check the support instructions for your exact model if you have a different Logitech wheel.
Set up the Logitech G29 for PS4
- Set the platform mode. Move the Platform Mode switch on the top of the wheel’s inner frame, behind the RPM indicator lights, to PS4. Logitech says to select the gaming platform before connecting the G29. See Logitech’s G29 platform-mode instructions.
- Connect the wheel and its included components. Connect the wheel to a PS4 USB port. Follow the setup instructions included with your G29 for its power and pedal connections; Logitech’s support page does not specify a complete cable-by-cable sequence for every package.
- Start a game that supports the wheel. The G29 is listed as compatible with PS4, but individual games determine whether the wheel’s buttons and accessories work. Check the game’s own supported-controller information if a control is not recognized. Logitech’s G29 product page lists its supported consoles and explains that controls and accessories depend on game support.
If the PS4 does not recognize the wheel
Try Logitech’s troubleshooting checks in this order:

- Plug the wheel’s power cable directly into a power outlet.
- Connect the wheel directly to a different PS4 USB port. Do not use a USB hub or similar device.
- Check that the cables are connected and the Platform Mode switch is set to PS4.
- Check for available PS4 system updates and updates for the game.
- Review the console and in-game settings.
- Test the wheel with another game or console. Logitech also suggests testing it on a computer.

Compatibility and optional shifter
Logitech lists the G29 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 3. That console compatibility does not guarantee that every game supports every wheel control or accessory; game support varies.

The Logitech Driving Force Shifter is optional, not required to connect the G29. Logitech lists the G29 and a game that supports the shifter as requirements, and lists PS4 as a supported platform. Logitech also says the shifter does not function on PS3. Check the shifter specifications and your game’s support details before using it.
