1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCompare two specific phones—not the iPhone and Galaxy brands as a whole. Pick models in a similar size and price tier, then check their displays, cameras, storage, battery and charging, software support, ecosystem fit, and total local cost. Manufacturer specification pages tell you what each phone offers; matched independent tests are needed to decide which performs better in everyday use.
Choose two models in the same tier
“iPhone versus Galaxy” is too broad to produce a useful verdict: each family includes different sizes, configurations, and feature levels. Apple’s iPhone comparison page lists multiple generations and configurations. Samsung’s UK Galaxy comparison guide separates the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.

Start with your budget and preferred phone size, then select the closest equivalents you could actually buy. Match the storage tier where possible, and note the country, carrier status, and whether each price is unlocked or tied to a plan. Samsung’s UK guide says the S26 range was announced on 25 February 2026 and became available to buy from 11 March 2026; those dates describe the UK range, not availability or pricing in every market.

Compare the features that affect your use
Size and display
Check screen size, resolution, refresh rate, brightness claims, dimensions, and weight on the pages for the exact models. A larger display may suit video, reading, or gaming, while a smaller, lighter phone may be easier to use one-handed. Specifications help you understand the trade-off; they do not establish which screen looks better in person.

Cameras
Compare the camera systems, not just the number of megapixels. Check which lenses each model has, its optical zoom range, and the video modes you care about. Then look for independent photos and video made with the exact models under comparable conditions. Manufacturer specifications establish listed hardware and features, but the available Apple and Samsung pages do not provide a matched independent camera test, so they cannot establish a cross-brand winner.
Storage and performance
Compare the available storage configurations and the processor and features listed for each phone. Choose enough storage for your photos, videos, apps, and offline media; do not assume two phones with similar headline capacities leave the same usable space. For performance, consider your own workload—such as gaming, editing, or everyday messaging—and consult model-specific independent testing rather than judging by processor names alone.
Rank #2
Battery and charging
Look for independent battery tests that use comparable methods and conditions. Battery capacity and a maker’s playback estimate are not interchangeable with a real-world endurance result.
Samsung’s UK guide lists model-specific Galaxy S26 battery capacities and video-playback estimates. Samsung says those playback estimates come from internal lab testing with the phone connected to earphones over LTE and playing a locally stored 720p video. It also cautions that actual playback time varies with network, settings, brightness, battery condition, and other factors. Treat the figures as Samsung estimates, not a direct comparison with an iPhone. Check charging capabilities and whether the local phone bundle includes the adapter you need; Samsung notes some charging adapters are sold separately.
Check software support and ecosystem fit
Check support information for the exact model and country before treating an update policy as a buying promise. Samsung Gulf’s Galaxy update-policy guide states that the listed Galaxy S-series generations are guaranteed three years of Android software updates and four years of security updates. That is a regional statement on the guide; confirm it applies to the model and market you are considering. Apple’s comparison page does not give a directly comparable support-duration commitment, so the two pages do not establish a like-for-like support-period comparison.
Also consider the devices and services you already use, the apps you rely on, and how much effort you are willing to spend moving data and changing habits. Those practical constraints may matter more to you than a small difference in a specification.

Work out the full local cost
Compare the amount you would actually pay for the same storage tier and purchase conditions. Include the unlocked price or required carrier plan, eligible trade-in credit, warranty and return terms, and any accessories you need. Promotions and inventory vary by market and change over time, so verify the current offer before relying on it.
Samsung’s US store says trade-in eligibility requirements apply and that qualifying models and credits may change. Its terms are US-specific; check the offer and conditions for your own country rather than treating a trade-in headline as a guaranteed discount.

Use a like-for-like checklist
- Pick the candidates: choose exact iPhone and Galaxy models in a similar size and price tier.
- Match configurations: compare storage, market, unlocked or carrier status, and the actual purchase terms.
- Check official specifications: use each maker’s page for screen, camera hardware and modes, storage, battery claims, and charging information.
- Look for independent comparisons: use matched-condition camera, battery, and performance tests for real-world conclusions the specification pages cannot establish.
- Verify ownership details: confirm model- and region-specific software support, local price, trade-in eligibility, return terms, and needed accessories.
Keep the comparison tied to those two models. A feature advantage on one Galaxy or iPhone does not make it a verdict on every phone in either brand’s lineup.
