Compare the exact refurbished PS5 Pro listing with the current price of a new one, then subtract the cost of any missing hardware and weigh the seller’s warranty and return terms. As of October 7, 2026, Sony’s US certified-refurbished catalog reviewed here lists slim PS5 consoles and controllers, but not a PS5 Pro. Third-party refurbished Pro listings may exist, but their testing, condition, warranty, and returns need to be checked individually.
What does a new PS5 Pro cost in the US?
Sony announced a US recommended retail price of $899.99 for PS5 Pro, effective April 2, 2026. PlayStation Direct’s US catalog displayed the 2 TB model at $899 when reviewed on October 7, 2026. These are different kinds of price references: one is Sony’s announced recommended price and the other is a store display that can change. Sony’s US certified-refurbished catalog does not show a PS5 Pro. That does not mean no other seller has one; it means you should not assume an unfamiliar listing is covered by Sony’s refurbishment standards or warranty.

How to assess warranty and refurbishment claims
Sony Certified Refurbished
Sony says products in its Certified Refurbished program undergo full testing to the same functional standards as new PlayStation products and include the standard one-year limited warranty. Those statements apply to products sold through that program. Since the US catalog reviewed does not list a PS5 Pro, do not transfer those assurances to a third-party Pro listing. Sony’s US warranty terms
Sony’s US PS5 warranty text describes one-year coverage for the original purchaser, requires proof of purchase for service, and is valid only in the United States and Canada. A used or third-party refurbished console may not qualify on the same terms. Read the exact seller and manufacturer terms to learn whose warranty applies and when it begins. PS5 Pro has a 2 TB SSD and does not include a disc drive. Sony says an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive can be purchased separately. If you use physical games or UHD Blu-rays, add the drive’s current cost to any offer that lacks one; if you only use digital games, its absence may not matter. Also confirm that the controller and cables shown in the listing are actually included. A missing controller or cable is not a cosmetic detail: include its replacement cost in the comparison rather than treating the refurbished price as the final cost.

It can be worthwhile if the exact console is verified, the seller’s testing and return terms are clear, and the savings remain meaningful after adding missing hardware or protection. Prefer a new PS5 Pro when the price gap is small, the seller cannot explain the refurbishment, or warranty and return coverage are unclear. There is no reliable universal discount to expect: evaluate the live listing against the current new checkout price and your own risk tolerance.
