Quit Teams, open the cache location Microsoft documents, delete the folder’s contents, then reopen Teams and sign in. This does not uninstall the app, but it does remove local cached material, including local message history and display images.
Clear the Teams cache

In the Windows taskbar, right-click the Microsoft Teams icon and choose Quit. This forces Teams to close.

Delete the contents of the

What clearing the cache removes
Microsoft says the cache includes the web-client cache, icons, thumbnails, local message history, Teams display images, and other Teams add-ons. Deleting it does not remove the Teams app. Microsoft’s support article does not specify how each item is restored or whether every user’s local state will resync, so do not assume that all local material will return unchanged.
If the documented folder is missing
The cited Microsoft procedure gives this location but does not say it applies to every current Teams app generation or every Windows installation. If the folder is not present, or Teams behaves differently from these steps, do not guess at another cache location; consult your organization’s IT guidance or Microsoft support.

Other connection troubleshooting options
Microsoft also suggests checking that your internet connection works, signing out and back in, reinstalling Teams, toggling your VPN if you use one, or trying Teams on the web. These are options, not guaranteed fixes.
