There is no single cache-clearing path for every Philips Smart TV. If your set has Android TV app controls, you may be able to clear the cache for one app. On some other Philips models, a Network menu offers Clear Internet Memory or Clear App memory; Philips says this removes cookies and browsing history. Identify your TV’s model and software platform first, because menu names and available options vary.
Choose the cache-clearing path that matches your Philips TV
Philips documents different built-in controls for different models. These options are not interchangeable: Android TV’s per-app cache setting targets one app, while Philips’ Internet Memory control deletes cookies and browsing history. The cited instructions do not establish a universal path for every Philips Android TV, Google TV, Roku TV, SAPHI, or Linux-based set. If the menu described below is missing, check the manual or support page for your exact model.

- Check whether TV software is current using the update instructions for your model.

See Philips’ support site for model-specific help.

Refresh apps or reinstall only with model-specific instructions
If the problem remains, Philips points to refreshing the TV’s app whitelist and reinstalling the TV. Use the instructions for your exact model before reinstalling; the procedure and available options are not established as identical across Philips platforms.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Clear Data is different from clearing cache
For certain Android app or Play Store errors, Philips separately describes clearing an app’s data and re-enabling the app. Its guidance uses Settings or General Settings > Android Settings > Apps > select the affected app > Clear Data. This is a distinct troubleshooting step, not another name for clearing cache. Consult the instructions for the specific error and app before using it.

Low storage: extra app memory is not cache clearing
Philips’ Android TV manual says a USB hard drive can serve as additional TV memory for apps on supported models, although some apps cannot be stored on the drive. This is storage expansion, not a way to clear cache. Check the manual for your exact TV before connecting or formatting a drive; Philips’ guidance here does not establish a drive capacity or compatibility that applies to all models.
Use model-year clues cautiously
Philips’ model/version guidance is specific to the US and should not be treated as a worldwide decoder. In that guidance, 2019 models ending in 04/F7 are described as Android 8; 2020 /F7 A or /F7 C models as Android 9; and 2021 and newer models as having model numbers greater than 4 in that series context. Confirm the platform in your TV’s own settings or manual rather than inferring it from the model number alone.
