For the Shark 2400WD Series, remove the filter from the dust bin, tap off loose debris, and rinse it with water once a month. Do not use soap or scrub it, and let it air-dry for up to 24 hours before reinstalling. Shark’s instructions vary by model, so check your robot’s owner’s guide before washing its filter.
How to clean the Shark 2400WD Series filter
- Remove the dust bin. Take the bin out of the robot, then pull the filter out using its tabs.
- Tap off loose debris. Do this each time you empty the dust bin.
- Rinse for a deeper clean. The 2400WD Series guide calls for a water rinse once a month. Do not add soap or scrub the filter; the guide warns that this can damage its material.
- Air-dry completely. Leave the filter to air-dry for up to 24 hours before putting it back. Reinsert it into the dust bin, then slide the bin into the robot until it clicks into place.
These instructions are for the 2400WD Series, not a universal procedure for every Shark robot. Follow the owner’s guide for your exact model before rinsing a filter.

Clean the filter shield area too
After every mopping run, and periodically after vacuuming, clean the area between the filter and its plastic shield. Use a dry cloth or soft brush to clear debris. The 2400WD Series guide specifies dry cleaning for this area.

When to replace the filter
For the 2400WD Series, Shark recommends replacing the filter once a year for optimal performance. Replacement parts are model-specific: identify your robot’s model number and check Shark’s compatibility information before ordering.
