Clean a robot vacuum’s mop pads, brushes, and dock according to the instructions for its exact model. Remove tangled hair with the supplied cleaning tool, wash only parts the manufacturer identifies as washable, and let components dry as directed. Robot vacuums differ in pad attachment, brush construction, dock trays, and washable parts. Before removing anything, check the manual or the app’s maintenance guidance for your model. Confirm which components can be washed, which cleaning agents are allowed, and how each part should be dried and reinstalled. Do not assume that a brush, filter, roller, or pad from another model is compatible.

How to clean removable mop pads and modules
For the removable Dreame mopping module covered by its mopping-module FAQ, the manufacturer’s instructions are to remove the module and pad, empty the tank, clean the pad with water, and air-dry it before reinstalling. Prevent dirty water from flowing back into the water outlet, and do not leave the tank in direct sunlight.

How to remove hair from brushes
Use the included cleaning tool to remove tangled hair, following your model’s instructions for taking the brush out and putting it back. Do not assume a brush is safe to rinse: wash it only if the manufacturer says it is washable.
Maintenance intervals vary by model. For the Roomba models in its brush-care schedule, iRobot recommends cleaning the main brush once a week, or twice weekly in homes with pets, and replacing it every 6–12 months. These are recommendations for the models listed in that support article, not requirements for every robot vacuum.

How to clean a self-washing dock
Automatic pad washing still leaves the dock’s basin and other parts to maintain. For the iRobot Auto-Wash dock described in its cleaning instructions, the procedure is:

- Remove the pad-washing roller and filter as instructed.
- Wipe out the pad-washing basin and liquid overflow basin, and check that the drainage port is unobstructed.
- Wash the roller and filter under warm water. The instructions allow mild soap and a sponge for stubborn debris.
- Pat the parts dry and reinstall them as directed.
For this dock, iRobot recommends cleaning the basins monthly, when visibly dirty, or when prompted by the app. Do not apply these steps to another dock design unless its manual gives the same instructions.

How to clean contacts and sensors
For the iRobot Auto-Wash dock, inspect the charging contacts, sensors, IR window, and visual docking target. The care and maintenance instructions specify a clean, dry cloth for the relevant contacts and sensor surfaces and warn against spraying water or cleaning solution onto sensors or their openings.
That schedule calls for cleaning charging contacts every two weeks and sensor surfaces monthly. These intervals apply to the cited dock guidance; check your own manual before using a damp cloth or adopting the same schedule.
