Turn the dehumidifier off and unplug it before cleaning. Wipe the case with water and mild detergent, clear dust from the grilles, clean the bucket, and wash and dry the air filter before reinstalling it. Keep water off the appliance itself, and check your model’s manual for filter intervals, indicator resets, and any pump-filter procedure.

Wipe the case and clear the grilles
Wipe the exterior with water and mild detergent. Do not use bleach or abrasive cleaners, and do not splash water directly onto the appliance: Midea warns that this can cause electric shock, insulation deterioration, or rust. Remove dust from the air intake and outlet with a vacuum attachment or brush.

Wash the water bucket
Clean the bucket every few weeks, as directed in the cited Midea manuals. Partially fill it with clean water and mild detergent, swish the solution around, then empty and rinse the bucket. Do not put it in a dishwasher. On the side-access model covered by the manual, the bucket must be returned securely for the unit to operate.

Wash and dry the air filter
Remove the filter using the instructions for your model, wash it with clean water, and let it dry before reinstalling it. Never operate the dehumidifier without the filter. One covered manual calls for cleaning the air filter every two weeks under normal operating conditions; another explains washing and drying without setting that interval. Follow the interval and any clean-filter indicator reset instructions in your model’s manual.

Check whether your model has a pump filter
Pump-filter cleaning is not a universal procedure for all Midea dehumidifiers. The recent manual cited here describes access through the side tank, using a screw and the pump drainage structure, and directs cleaning every two weeks under normal conditions. Only use that procedure if your exact model’s manual documents it. Midea’s dehumidifier FAQ directs owners to the manual for hose instructions and notes that a pump filter should be attached when troubleshooting drainage.

Check your model before resetting or replacing anything
Midea makes different dehumidifier designs, and manuals do not all describe the same maintenance parts or steps. Find the model number on the appliance label and use that model’s manual for filter removal, clean-filter indicator resets, and pump care. For example, Midea’s MADA50R5AWT product page describes a washable filter and clean-filter indicator; that does not establish that every Midea model has those same features.
If the filter is dusty, the cited instructions call for washing and reinstalling it rather than routinely replacing it. Consider replacement if it is damaged or missing, and verify the part against your exact model through Midea’s parts and support route. The available information does not establish one universal replacement filter.

Prepare the dehumidifier for long-term storage
One Midea manual advises letting the unit rest for a full day so the system can dry naturally, then cleaning the unit, bucket, and filter. Store it upright in a dry, well-ventilated area. Check your own model’s manual, since storage instructions may vary.
