To claim a monthly PlayStation Plus game, add it to your account’s library from the PS5 or PS4 Monthly Games section. You can then download it to your console; PlayStation also supports starting downloads remotely through a web browser or the PlayStation App.
Claim and download a monthly game on PS5
- From the Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Open the Benefits tab, then select Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game you want and select Download.
Claim and download a monthly game on PS4
- From the function screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Scroll down and select Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game and select Add to Library, then select Download.
The console menus differ: PlayStation’s PS4 instructions include a separate Add to Library step, while its PS5 instructions say to select Download. See PlayStation’s official instructions if the labels or layout differ on your console.

Start a download remotely
PlayStation says members can start a download to a PS5 or PS4 through a web browser or the PlayStation App by selecting a PlayStation Plus game. The exact button sequence depends on the interface; use PlayStation’s remote-download guidance for the current steps.
What happens after you claim a game
Monthly games are available to download and play at no extra cost while your PlayStation Plus membership is active. PlayStation adds new monthly games every calendar month, but that does not establish the claim deadline for any particular title. Check the current Monthly Games listing for your region and claim a game while it is offered.

Monthly Games are separate from the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog. On PlayStation’s US plan page, Monthly Games are listed as a benefit of Essential, Extra, and Premium; the Game Catalog is listed with Extra and Premium, while the Classics Catalog is listed with Premium. Catalog titles are a different benefit and may have title-specific availability dates. See PlayStation’s US plan and games page for current membership details.
