There is no single broiler pan size that fits every oven. Check your oven’s exact model and manual, measure the usable rack and opening, then compare those measurements with the pan’s outside dimensions—including its handles and rim. The pan must fit in the intended orientation, sit securely on the rack, and allow the door to close without violating the manufacturer’s clearance guidance.
Start with your oven’s model, not its advertised width
Find the model number and consult that oven’s owner manual or official parts page before buying a pan. Oven exterior width does not tell you the usable space inside, and manufacturers may specify different cookware or rack guidance across product lines. GE advises using the owner manual for the specific oven to determine broiler rack position; follow that guidance rather than assuming a generic position will work.

If you are replacing an original pan, search the manufacturer’s official parts catalog using the complete oven model number. Confirm that the listing applies to your product line and configuration; a part number from another brand or oven series is not evidence of compatibility.

Measure the usable rack width and depth, the opening through which the pan must pass, and any height limits inside the cavity. Include obstacles or constraints that affect insertion, removal, and door closure. Then compare those measurements with the pan’s exterior width, depth, and height in the orientation you plan to use. Account for handles and any projecting rim, not just the flat cooking surface.

- Opening and removal: A pan that fits inside the cavity may still be too wide or deep to pass through the oven opening comfortably.
- Door closure: Confirm the door closes fully with the pan in place.
- Airflow and element clearance: Follow the manual’s required clearances; do not let the pan crowd an element or obstruct airflow where the manufacturer warns against it.
For countertop ovens, use the appliance’s own bakeware limits. KitchenAid says bakeware must allow airflow, let the door close fully, and avoid getting too close to heating elements. Its countertop-oven guidance identifies the included broil pan as the largest pan or baking sheet size to use and calls for at least 1 inch between the container top and the upper elements. Those instructions apply to the specified KitchenAid countertop oven guidance, not automatically to every oven.
Choose cookware suited to broiling
Size is only one part of the fit. GE recommends a pan and grid designed for broiling so fat can drain into the pan. Whirlpool describes a shallow, high-heat metal pan with a baking rack as an alternative and advises against using glass cookware for broiling. Check your oven manual and the pan maker’s stated material and heat suitability before using any substitute.

- FITS MANY MAJOR OVEN BRANDS: Compatible with many major oven and range brands and built as a practical replacement accessory for shoppers looking for an OEM broiler pan and grid set; verify your model before ordering
“Universal” is a product label, not proof that a pan fits your oven. For example, GE’s WB48X10056 is listed at 16.75 inches deep, 12.625 inches wide, and 1.375 inches high in the specification table; its product description gives rounded figures of 16.5 inches long, 12.75 inches wide, and 1.25 inches high. Use the specification dimensions when comparing fit, and verify the current listing and your oven manual before purchase. These measurements do not establish compatibility with every oven.
