To choose Nerf darts that fit, check your blaster’s exact model and its official packaging or instructions, then buy the dart family named there. Nerf darts are not universally interchangeable: Elite, Ultra and N Series N1 blasters each have specific compatibility rules.
Which Nerf darts fit my blaster?
Start with the model name printed on the blaster or its packaging. Find that model’s Hasbro product page or instructions and look for the named dart family. Match the refill to that family, not just to the Nerf brand.

Hasbro’s guidance covers several product families, but it is not a complete compatibility list for every historical Nerf dart type or every model. If your blaster is not covered by the examples below, check its official instructions or ask Hasbro Consumer Care before buying.

Do Nerf darts fit all blasters?
No. Hasbro’s compatibility statements are family-specific: Ultra darts are for Ultra blasters, and N1 darts are for N Series blasters. Elite darts are listed for particular lines, including N-Strike Elite, AccuStrike Elite, Zombie Strike and Modulus. A refill’s shape or the fact that it is branded Nerf does not establish that it suits your blaster.

How to check before buying
- Identify the model. Read the name on the blaster or its packaging.
- Find official product information. Look up the exact model on Hasbro’s site or locate its instructions.
- Confirm the dart family. Check whether the model specifies Elite, Ultra, N Series N1 or another type.
- Match the refill listing. Make sure it names the same dart family and, if listed, the compatible model line. Search with both the family and model name—for example, “Elite darts compatible with [model]” or “N1 darts [N Series model].”
- Follow the product instructions. Check the age and use guidance, and use the recommended eye protection.
Does dart choice affect distance or accuracy?
Compatibility comes first. After confirming the right family, treat performance claims as qualified rather than guaranteed results. Hasbro’s Elite refill page claims a distance of up to 85 feet (26 meters), with the explicit qualification that distance varies according to the blaster. Hasbro’s “Nerf Darts Analysis Process & Findings” reports that AccuStrike darts had the smallest average shot diameter in the described test: 25.57 inches. The document concludes that AccuStrike produced the most precise and repeatable results among the dart types tested. Its accessible copy does not show a publication year, and the finding is limited to that analysis; it does not establish that AccuStrike is more accurate in every blaster or situation. Use Nerf darts safely
Hasbro’s product safety guidance says: “Do not aim at eyes or face. Use of eyewear recommended for players and people within range. Use only official Nerf darts.
