Choose Elden Ring for room to change your approach

Sekiro’s official description highlights stealth, vertical movement, prosthetic tools, ninja abilities, and direct combat. Those details can help you judge whether its emphasis sounds engaging. They do not establish that it lacks other kinds of variety or that it is harder than another game, so avoid choosing it on the basis of an unsupported genre-wide ranking.

Consider Lies of P if you want an explicit setting
The Overture launch notes describe three difficulty levels, changed through Settings → Gameplay → Difficulty. They also list separately assignable dash and dodge controls, optional camera auto-rotation, and colorblind settings. Because these details come from launch notes tied to Overture, confirm the current version, platform, and edition of the copy you plan to play before treating them as available.
Treat Dark Souls as a starting point, not a difficulty benchmark
Bandai Namco’s available description calls Dark Souls deeply challenging and mentions Bonfires, but it does not provide enough verified detail here to compare specific mechanics or ways to ease a difficult stretch. If those details are central to your decision, check information for the particular version you intend to play.

Check accessibility and version details before buying
A difficulty setting is only one part of how adjustable a game may be. Microsoft’s Xbox Accessibility Guideline 108 notes that “Difficulty is often thought of as ‘Easy/Normal/Hard,’ but these are broad categories that often encompass a wide set of variables.” A player may need one mechanic adjusted without wanting puzzles or other systems changed.
- Look for the specific setting you need, such as remapping, camera behavior, or visual options.
- Check whether the setting is available on your platform and in your edition.
- For patch-specific features, verify your current game version rather than relying on an older description.
- When considering a physical or digital listing, confirm the platform and included expansion or other edition content.
Make the choice by fit, not by a universal ranking
If flexibility and the option to leave a tough encounter for later matter most, Elden Ring’s official guidance makes it a strong game to investigate. If you are drawn to stealth, traversal, prosthetic tools, and direct combat, Sekiro’s official description gives you a clear reason to look closer. If a selectable difficulty setting is important, Lies of P’s Overture notes describe one, but check that it applies to your copy. The available evidence does not support a reliable easiest-to-hardest ordering across these games.

Hidetaka Miyazaki, FromSoftware director, said in a PlayStation Blog interview: “In general, I’d like new players to feel unpressured and that they can approach the game at their pace.” Use that as a reminder to look for the pace and tools that suit you—not as a promise that any particular game will feel easy.
