Use the sizing kit made for your exact smart ring model and generation, then wear the sizer on your intended finger for a full day and night. A good fit stays secure at the base of the finger, feels snug but comfortable, and keeps the ring’s sensors against your skin.
Why a regular ring size is only a starting point
Smart rings do not necessarily match standard jewelry sizing. Oura says its sizes differ slightly from standard US ring sizes and that sizing can vary between generations. Samsung notes that the sensors inside Galaxy Ring affect fit. RingConn says its sizes are specially engineered and recommends using a Gen 3 kit for Gen 3 because sizing may differ from earlier generations. Use a kit intended for the precise brand, model, and generation you plan to buy—not just a familiar jewelry size or a kit with the same printed number. How to test your fit
- Choose the finger you intend to use. Test the sizer on that finger and hand; size can differ between fingers and between hands. Oura and RingConn recommend the index finger for accuracy. Oura also says the middle or ring finger can work.
- Wear the sizer for at least 24 hours. Include sleep and ordinary daytime activity so you can account for normal changes in finger size. Samsung recommends wearing its sizer for more than 24 hours, including sleep.
- Check the fit and sensor position. The sizer should be snug but comfortable, sit securely at the base, and maintain contact with the skin. Check whether it loosens or rotates. For Oura, make a fist: if a gap appears between the ring and the top of your finger, try the smaller size. Samsung’s sizer indicator line should face outward, toward the palm.
- Assess comfort through the full test. A size should not hurt, restrict circulation, or be difficult to remove. If it does, try another size. Follow the exact brand’s instructions if they differ.

These are manufacturer-specific directions, not a universal sizing standard. Follow the instructions for the exact ring and generation you are considering.

What to do if you are between sizes
First compare both candidate sizes through the full day-and-night test, rather than choosing from a quick try-on. Prefer the one that stays securely at the base without rotating or leaving a gap, maintains sensor contact, and remains comfortable after sleep and ordinary activity. Then apply the maker’s stated rule: Oura and RingConn recommend the smaller size between two sizes, while RingConn’s comfort and circulation cautions are reasons to test the next size up. Samsung advises trying another size if its sizer remains uncomfortable; it does not give the same general between-size recommendation.

How to compare sizing kits
- Confirm that the kit is made for the exact brand, model, and generation; do not assume printed sizes or kits are interchangeable.
- Use the maker’s finger and wear-time instructions, including any required sensor-orientation marker.
- Compare the fit on your intended finger after sleep and normal activity, not only while your hand is at rest.
For example, RingConn’s official chart lists size 10 circumference as 62.7 mm for Gen 3 and 62.3 mm for Gen 2 and Gen 2 Air; it lists a 20.45 mm diameter for all three. Those are product measurements, not proof that the sizes or kits are universally interchangeable. RingConn’s chart provides the listed specifications.
