How to Choose a Reach Plan and Set It Up for Your Email Audience

Reach has separate monthly limits for distinct recipients and total emails. Learn how to choose a tier, verify a sending domain, and decide whether you need a website or mailbox.

Choose a plan by tracking two separate monthly limits: how many distinct people you contact and how many total messages you send. Before sending, you also need to verify a sending domain. Reach can handle marketing campaigns and automations, but it is not a business mailbox—and you do not need to host your website with the same provider to use it.

How do the monthly sending limits work?

Reach counts both unique recipients and total emails each month. Unique recipients are distinct addresses contacted; total emails count every message sent across campaigns and automations. If you send three messages to the same person, that uses one unique recipient and three emails.

For example, sending one campaign to 100 people and another to 200 people uses 300 emails. The unique-recipient count depends on how many distinct addresses those campaigns reach, not simply the sum of the audience sizes. Deleting contacts does not restore unique-recipient capacity already used that month. Hostinger says both limits reset on the first day of the next month. Hostinger explains the two limits and reset rules in its FAQ.

What happens when a limit is reached?

  • If you reach the email limit, you cannot send new one-off campaigns, and active automations may fail.
  • If you reach the unique-recipient limit, messages to additional distinct people are blocked; automations targeting people beyond the limit may stop.
  • Upgrading raises both kinds of quota together. Hostinger says you cannot increase only one.

Estimate both totals before choosing a tier: a small list that receives frequent messages may need more email capacity, while a larger list reached less often may be constrained by the unique-recipient limit. Compare those expected needs against the current plan screen rather than treating one quota as a substitute for the other.

Is the free plan enough, and when should you upgrade?

Hostinger Help Center subscription documentation lists the free plan at 200 emails and 100 unique subscribers per month, with one year of access claimable once per account. These are the published baseline figures, not a guarantee that the same offer or terms will be available when you sign up. Check the current plan screen for availability and eligibility.

Paid tiers add higher quotas and may include monthly AI credits, removal of the Reach signature, unlimited AI-powered audience segments and subject lines, limited spam-check assistance, Smart Sending, collaborators, welcome automations, delayed email sequences, and ecommerce automations. The subscription details page lists 10, 20, or 30 monthly AI credits by tier, but does not make those figures a substitute for checking the current offer. See Hostinger’s subscription details and upgrade instructions for the current options.

Before paying, compare your anticipated unique recipients and total messages with the current quotas. Then consider whether you need the paid tier’s specific tools—for example, ecommerce automations or additional collaborators—rather than upgrading solely because a feature sounds useful. Prices and exact paid-plan thresholds are not established here; use the live plan screen for both.

Do you need a domain, website, or mailbox?

A verified sending domain is required before you can send campaigns or activate automations. You can draft campaigns before connecting one. Reach supports one connected domain at a time. A website is optional: Reach can be used as a standalone marketing tool with a professional domain, including a domain used with a site hosted elsewhere.

Reach is not webmail. It manages marketing campaigns, contacts, automations, and analytics; it does not provide an inbox for ordinary one-to-one business conversations. If you want recipients to reply to campaign emails, the sender address needs an actual mailbox that accepts replies. Hostinger’s FAQ distinguishes Reach from its business email service.

Choose a setup that matches what you already have

Your situation Practical setup
No website and no domain The FAQ recommends hosting with Reach; it says the hosting purchase described there includes a domain for one year and webmail access. Verify current checkout terms and decide whether you need the hosting and mailbox, rather than buying them just to send campaigns.
You own a domain but do not have a site Reach can be used on its own with an external domain. The FAQ also describes an offer to claim one website free for one year for collecting contacts; verify eligibility and terms before relying on it.
You have a supported site Native integrations cover Hostinger AI Builder, WordPress, and Hostinger eCommerce. Connecting a site for contact collection does not replace verifying the sending domain.
Your site is hosted elsewhere You can still use Reach. Add contacts through CSV upload or the public API.
You need business email conversations Arrange a separate business mailbox or a hosting package that includes one. Reach itself does not provide webmail.

For contacts from a website, use a supported integration where available, or manage them with CSV imports or the public API. Collect consent before sending marketing messages; having an address in a file does not by itself make it appropriate to mail. The FAQ covers standalone use and outside websites, and the contact guide describes ways to add them.

How do you connect and authenticate a sending domain?

Hostinger recommends sending from a separate subdomain, such as mail.yourdomain.com, to keep marketing traffic separate from the root domain’s DNS records and reputation. This is a separation measure, not a guarantee that messages will reach inboxes. Authentication records are part of setup, but DNS authentication alone does not establish inbox placement.

  1. In Reach, open Domain settings and choose a Hostinger domain or add an external domain. Decide whether to send from the root domain or a separate subdomain.
  2. For an external domain, prove ownership by adding the verification record Reach requests. Then choose the sending subdomain if using one.
  3. Set the sender name to match your brand. If recipients should be able to reply, use an address backed by a working mailbox.
  4. Complete the requested DNS configuration and wait for it to take effect before sending. Hostinger says configuration for its domains can take up to a few hours.
  5. Confirm that the domain is verified in Reach before sending a campaign or activating an automation.

Hostinger says it handles SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration automatically for its own domains. For an external domain, ownership verification and setup are required. DNS changes can take a few hours to propagate, so a draft-ready campaign may still need to wait before it can be sent. Read the domain connection instructions and the getting-started guide.

What is the practical setup order?

Hostinger’s onboarding guide presents adding contacts, connecting a domain, creating a template, and creating the first campaign as the core sequence. You can prepare drafts before domain verification, but cannot send until verification is complete.

  1. Add contacts individually, import them in bulk, sync them from supported sites or forms, or manage them through the public API. Use contacts who have consented to receive your marketing.
  2. Connect and verify the sending domain in Domain settings, allowing time for DNS changes.
  3. Create a reusable email template and check the sender name and reply address.
  4. Build a campaign, review its audience and content, and send only after Reach shows the domain as verified.

If you use automations, make sure their audience and expected monthly message volume fit both quotas before activating them. An automation may stop when a relevant quota is exhausted.
