Compare what the processing actually does—such as adjusting sound for content, controlling bass, correcting for a room, or coordinating multiple speakers—then check what it needs to work and which listening positions it serves. The examples below describe manufacturers’ claims, not verified head-to-head sound-quality results.
Start with the job the processing is meant to do
Before comparing names such as “AI Adaptive Sound” or “Room Calibration,” ask what signal or environment the system analyzes and what it changes. A speaker may combine several functions under an AI label, while another product may focus on one specific task.

- Content-aware tuning: Does it adapt to a scene or genre, emphasize dialogue, or distinguish speech from music and effects?
- Bass and distortion control: Does it analyze woofer behavior, adjust low frequencies for the room, or claim to address both?
- Room correction: What does it measure—speaker placement, room characteristics, or sound at listening positions—and how does it apply the result?
- Listening area: Is the result optimized around one listening position, calculated from several measured positions, or adjusted as a listener moves?
- System integration: Does it work with the TV, speakers, streaming connections, and audio formats you already use?
These are different jobs. A feature that improves dialogue handling is not automatically a substitute for room calibration, and a room-correction feature does not by itself establish better bass or clearer voices.
Compare content-aware tuning and bass control separately
Content and dialogue
Samsung says its Music Studio 5 LS50H uses AI Adaptive Sound to adapt audio to content and lists Active Voice Amplifier among its features. LG describes the Sound Suite H7’s Alpha 11 AI processing as recognizing genres and separating or remastering voice, music, and effects. These descriptions indicate different processing claims; they do not establish which speaker handles a particular movie or song better in a direct listening comparison. Bass and distortion
Samsung says the Music Studio 5’s AI Dynamic Bass Control uses machine-learning analysis of woofer vibration distortion. That is a claim about woofer behavior, not proof that the system corrects room bass response or outperforms a competitor. When comparing products, look for the manufacturer’s stated target and avoid treating “bass control,” “distortion correction,” and “room correction” as interchangeable terms. Room correction is only as useful as its measurements and setup
Room correction systems differ in what they measure, how you perform calibration, and where they aim to improve the sound. Check those details before comparing results or assuming that any feature called “calibration” works the same way.
Focal ADAPT: room and speaker inputs with guided tests
Focal describes ADAPT as using room and speaker-position information along with audio tests that include symmetry and tonal balance. Its account says the process can establish a sweet spot based on listening position, and that exact calibration stages can vary by supported product. It is therefore important to confirm which Focal model supports ADAPT and what its particular setup asks you to do. Focal ADAPT overview.

Dirac Live: measurements at multiple listening positions
Dirac describes taking measurements at multiple listening positions and generating correction filters from them. Its setup requires an external measurement microphone and a compatible device; Dirac also describes a desktop-computer route for computer audio. Check compatibility for the exact AVR, soundbar, streamer, or computer-audio configuration before choosing it, and confirm whether the microphone and required connection method are available to you. Dirac Live Room Correction.
Other approaches may use different sensors
iFi describes its Aurora all-in-one system as using six ultrasonic sensors and a microprocessor for Automatic Room Tailoring of its speaker array. That is a manufacturer description of its own approach; it is not evidence for the company’s broader comparative claim about DSP. Treat the sensor count and process as product details, not as a ranking of correction quality. iFi Aurora product page.
Match the correction to the listening area
“Room optimized” can mean different things. Focal’s description ties its sweet spot to a listening position, while Dirac calls for measurements at multiple positions. LG describes Sound Follow for the Sound Suite H7 as tracking a phone’s location. Those approaches raise a practical question: do you usually listen alone in a fixed seat, share a sofa, or move around the room? A feature’s usefulness depends partly on whether its target area matches that pattern; the descriptions alone do not prove how noticeable the result will be. For TV and home theater, verify the exact system compatibility
In a standalone music speaker, processing may be the main comparison. In a TV or home-theater setup, compatibility can determine whether a feature is usable at all. Check the exact model and region, as well as the required TV, expansion speakers, channel configuration, and supported audio formats.

Samsung Q-Symphony
Samsung publishes specific compatible TV families and device-count limits for Q-Symphony. Its Gulf-region Music Studio 5 page also lists model-specific details, including support for output up to 24-bit/96kHz. Samsung’s 2026 U.S. lineup announcement provides separate context for Music Studio 5 and 7 and Q-Series products. These are manufacturer specifications and compatibility statements, not comparative evidence of sound quality; confirm regional naming and requirements for the particular TV and speaker you plan to pair. LG Sound Suite expansion
LG lists designated M-series speakers and a W7 woofer for expanding the Sound Suite H7, and describes support for Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. Its Canadian product page notes that experience may vary by environment and that channel details depend on the configuration. Check which components are supported together and what channel arrangement applies to the exact setup rather than assuming every Sound Suite configuration has the same capabilities. Use evidence quality to keep feature claims in perspective
The cited product pages and lineup announcement are manufacturer sources. They can establish what a company says a product supports, what it measures, and which configurations it lists. They do not provide controlled, independent head-to-head listening results showing which system sounds best. Samsung’s Music Studio 5 specification of up to 24-bit/96kHz and the announcement’s channel figures for Music Studio 7 and Q990H are product specifications, not proof of superior sound.
For a purchase decision, use feature descriptions to narrow down products that fit your needs, then seek independent comparative listening evidence for sound-quality rankings. If you audition speakers yourself, compare them with the same source material, similar playback levels, and the same room and seating position; otherwise, differences in setup can be mistaken for differences in processing.

Quick Recap
A practical comparison checklist
- Name your use: Decide whether the speaker is mainly for music, TV dialogue, a shared living room, or a multi-speaker home-theater setup.
- Identify the processing task: Separate content adaptation, dialogue handling, bass or distortion control, and room correction instead of treating them as one feature.
- Check the calibration procedure: Find out whether the system needs a phone, app, computer, external microphone, compatible receiver, or other hardware, and whether it measures one or multiple positions.
- Check the listening target: Compare the calibration approach with the seats and movement patterns that matter in your room.
- Verify compatibility: Confirm the exact model, region, TV family, add-on speakers, channel configuration, and audio-format support.
- Separate specifications from proof: Record manufacturer claims as claims; do not infer audible superiority from an AI label, a sensor count, a channel figure, or a supported resolution alone.
- Compare listening evidence: Where available, prioritize independent tests that compare the exact models under controlled, clearly described conditions.
