The GPU, CPU, memory, and storage all matter, but official minimum and recommended specs are not promises of a particular frame rate—especially at 1440p or 4K.
Start with the games and performance target
There is no single configuration that represents every tactical or realistic first-person shooter. Gray Zone Warfare, Ready or Not, and Squad publish different CPU, GPU, memory, and storage requirements. Use the current official listing for each game you care about, rather than treating one title’s requirements as a universal PC-buying guide.

Before comparing PCs, decide which games matter most and whether you are aiming for 1080p, 1440p, or 4K, along with the graphics settings you want to use. Requirements alone do not establish what frame rate a system will deliver at any of those targets. For a performance-based choice, look for current benchmarks of the same game at the same resolution and settings, ideally using a comparable game version.
Compare the listed requirements
These are the specifications published on the cited game pages, not results from a shared test. The GPU names in different games’ listings should not be read as equivalent performance ratings.

Game requirements can change, particularly for titles that receive substantial updates. Check the live listing for each game before buying.
Prioritize the GPU for the resolution and settings you want
The graphics card is a key part of matching a PC to your visual target, but a requirement list is not a benchmark chart. For example, Gray Zone Warfare’s recommended listing includes the RTX 4070 and RTX 5070, as well as the RX 6800 XT and RX 7800 XT; Ready or Not’s recommended listing names a GTX 1060 6GB or better. Those entries describe each game’s published requirements. They do not prove that the cards deliver similar frame rates, or establish results at 1440p or 4K.

When choosing between candidate systems, compare independent results for the exact game, resolution, graphics settings, and—where possible—game version you intend to use. If those results are unavailable, treat the listed requirements as a compatibility reference, not a performance guarantee.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCheck the CPU separately
Each game lists processor models independently from its graphics requirements. A PC with a GPU that meets a game’s listing may still have a CPU below the same game’s stated minimum or recommendation. Compare the actual CPU model in the complete system with the relevant game requirements instead of assuming a graphics-card upgrade will satisfy every requirement.

When two PCs have different processors, use game-specific benchmarks at your target settings to judge the practical difference. The official lists provide model names, not a common CPU performance score.
Match memory capacity to the games you play
Memory recommendations vary across these titles: Gray Zone Warfare lists 16 GB minimum and 32 GB recommended; Squad lists 8 GB minimum and 16 GB recommended; Ready or Not lists 8 GB for both. If several games are priorities, compare the PC’s installed memory with each game’s current listing.

As a practical buying consideration—not an additional game requirement—leave capacity for the operating system and any applications you keep open while playing. The cited specifications do not quantify that extra allowance.

Confirm storage, SSD, and platform details
Check both the available drive capacity and any storage-type requirement. Gray Zone Warfare explicitly requires an SSD; its listing gives 40 GB of storage. Ready or Not lists 60 GB, and Squad lists 65 GB. Those figures are the games’ published storage requirements, not a statement of the total space a PC should reserve for the operating system, updates, or other games.
Also verify any other specific requirements that apply to your planned setup. Gray Zone Warfare’s listing calls for AVX2 support. Squad’s recommended listing names Windows 11 and a microphone. Such details can matter even when the headline GPU and CPU models appear to match.
Use a repeatable comparison before buying
- Write down your target. List the games you intend to play, the resolution, and the graphics settings you want. Do not treat 1440p or 4K as covered just because a PC meets a game’s minimum requirements.
- Open each current game listing. Record its minimum and recommended CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and any additional requirements.
- Check the candidate PC as a complete system. Confirm the exact CPU and GPU models, installed memory, available storage, drive type, and operating-system compatibility. Consider component compatibility and upgrade options rather than comparing isolated model names.
- Find matching performance evidence. Prefer benchmarks for the same games at your resolution and settings, with a game version close to the one you will play. Requirements pages alone cannot supply that comparison.
- Choose based on the weakest relevant match. If a system misses a listed CPU, memory, or storage requirement, a stronger GPU does not erase that gap. Decide whether the shortfall can be addressed through a compatible upgrade before purchase.
Why realism does not define the hardware requirement
“Realistic” describes a game’s style, not a standard hardware class. For Ready or Not, developer VOID Interactive says it consulted police teams globally to create rules of engagement and a scoring system intended to be challenging and realistic. That design statement does not specify what PC performance players should expect; the game’s own system requirements and relevant benchmarks are the useful hardware references.
