Steam associates that hardware tier with 1440p at 60 FPS using upscaling. Its lower tier is aimed at 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling, using a GTX 1660 or RX 5500 XT and a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600.
Those are the game’s published pre-release targets, not independent test results or guarantees for every PC with similarly named parts. Steam lists the resolution and frame-rate targets; Epic lists the same component profiles without those performance notes. As of October 13, 2026, both stores list an October 28, 2026 release date, so measured retail performance is not established by these listings.

Start by choosing the experience you want to target
Phantom Blade Zero is an Unreal Engine 5 action RPG from S-GAME Studio. The Steam description calls it “a fusion of classic Wuxia storytelling and exhilarating action powered by Unreal Engine 5.” For a PC buyer, the useful starting point is not a broad label such as “gaming computer,” but the two hardware tiers the publisher has published and the resolution and frame rate Steam associates with each.
The tiers are not interchangeable promises. The minimum profile is paired with 1080p and 30 FPS with upscaling enabled; the recommended profile is paired with 1440p and 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. If you want to aim for the higher listed target, use the recommended components as your reference point rather than assuming that a minimum-spec PC will reach it by lowering a few settings.

The resolution and frame-rate associations above are stated on Steam; Epic’s rendered requirements section does not include them.
How to read the GPU and CPU tiers
Use the GPU as the first comparison
For a complete PC, check the graphics card model against one of the examples in the tier you want to target. The recommended examples are an RTX 3060 Ti with 8GB of video memory or an RX 6700 XT with 12GB. The minimum examples are a GTX 1660 with 6GB or an RX 5500 XT with 8GB. These are named examples, not a published ranking of every card on the market. The listings do not establish how a different GPU will perform, nor do they provide benchmark results for maximum settings or performance above the recommended tier.
Do not treat a larger VRAM number as proof that a card will match or outperform another listed card. Compare the exact GPU model first; the requirements do not provide a formula for converting memory capacity into frame rate. If a system page advertises only a broad family name, find the full model and its memory specification before deciding whether it meets a listed example.

Check the processor independently
The minimum CPUs named are the Intel Core i7-8700K and AMD Ryzen 5 3600. The recommended CPUs are the Intel Core i5-10600K and AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. Do not assume that the higher number in a product name, a newer generation, or a higher advertised clock automatically establishes equivalence. Neither store provides a cross-generation performance scale or benchmark table for other processors.
A practical comparison is therefore model-to-model: verify the exact CPU in the PC listing, then check it against the examples in the chosen tier. If the CPU or GPU differs from those examples, the official requirements alone cannot confirm its game performance.
What the targets do—and do not—tell you
Resolution and frame rate are paired targets
Steam describes the minimum target as “1080p / 30 FPS with upscaling enabled” and the recommended target as “1440p / 60 FPS with upscaling enabled.” These should be read as paired, upscaled targets, not as claims about native rendering resolution or performance with upscaling disabled. The listings do not name an upscaling technology, graphics preset, test scene or measurement method.
The recommended tier is the relevant benchmark for someone specifically aiming at the listed 1440p/60 target. The minimum tier is a lower target, not an assurance that every setting can be raised while preserving 60 FPS. No official listing here reports stable frame rates, worst-case performance, maximum-settings results or outcomes for hardware beyond the recommended examples.
These are requirements published before release
Steam and Epic list October 28, 2026 as the availability date. On October 13, 2026, the game is still upcoming according to those listings. That timing matters: published hardware requirements can help you select a system, but they are not a substitute for independent testing on the released game. There are no retail-PC measurements or laptop equivalencies established by the listed requirements.

In particular, a question such as whether an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU and Ryzen 7 8845HS will run the game at 1080p on maximum settings cannot be answered from these profiles. Those exact laptop components and maximum-settings performance are not addressed by the official store pages. Laptop and desktop GPU names should not be treated as equivalent without reliable testing for the specific models.
Check every PC listing against the requirements
When comparing prebuilts or custom configurations, use the actual component list rather than the product name, promotional image or a general “gaming” label. Check one tier at a time and record what the listing confirms.
- Choose a target. For the published 1080p/30 FPS target, compare against the minimum examples. For the 1440p/60 FPS target, compare against the recommended examples. Both Steam targets use upscaling.
- Verify the GPU model and VRAM. Look for a named example from the selected tier, including its model designation. If the listing uses a different card, the requirements do not by themselves establish equivalence.
- Verify the CPU model. Compare the exact processor against the corresponding tier’s named Intel or AMD example instead of relying on a series name or a claim that the chip is “equivalent.”
- Confirm 16 GB of RAM. Both minimum and recommended profiles specify 16 GB. These listings do not state a higher memory requirement for the recommended target.
- Confirm Windows and DirectX support. The listed operating system is Windows 10/11 64-bit, and the required graphics API is DirectX 12. Check the system’s stated OS and hardware/software support rather than assuming from the PC’s age or price.
- Confirm an SSD is included. Installation on an SSD is required. The stores do not specify the required capacity or the game’s installation size, so check the PC’s storage type and available space rather than inferring a capacity from the requirement.
- Compare the whole system before buying. Once core requirements are checked, inspect the exact listing for price, warranty, upgrade options, power supply and cooling. These can affect whether a particular PC is a sensible purchase, but they are not additional Phantom Blade Zero specifications.
Desktop, laptop and upgrade decisions
Do not infer laptop performance from desktop names
The official examples are GPU and CPU model names without a separate laptop tier. A laptop may use a mobile GPU with a similar family name to a desktop card, but the store requirements do not say that they perform the same. Power limits and the full laptop configuration are not accounted for in the published profiles. Without reliable model-specific game testing, a laptop cannot be certified against a desktop example based on the name alone.

Until then, consider the requirements a reference rather than a laptop compatibility guarantee.
Decide whether to upgrade or replace by component
If you already own a PC, check the GPU, CPU, RAM, Windows version, DirectX 12 support and SSD individually against the target tier. A system can have a qualifying GPU but still miss another listed requirement. Conversely, meeting the named minimum tier does not establish the recommended 1440p/60 target. The official pages do not provide upgrade-specific benchmarks, so they cannot predict how much a single component change would improve performance.
If a system has a different component, or its listing omits a detail, do not fill the gap with a guess. Ask the seller for the exact specification or wait for post-release testing of that specific configuration. This is especially important for laptops and for systems marketed using vague GPU-family labels.
Compare two complete PC listings without guessing
When two systems appear close in price or marketing language, make a side-by-side table with one row for every requirement and purchase factor. Record the exact GPU and video-memory amount, exact CPU, installed RAM, storage type and capacity, operating-system edition, and stated DirectX support. Then record the intended target tier: minimum or recommended. This makes gaps visible without pretending that an unlisted part has known game performance.

For example, a listing that explicitly names an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB and Ryzen 5 5600X can be checked directly against the recommended examples. The same listing still needs confirmation of 16 GB RAM, Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12 support and an SSD. A second listing that advertises only “GeForce RTX graphics” and “Core i5 processor” does not provide enough detail to compare those components with the named examples. Request the precise models rather than scoring it as a match based on the family labels.

Do not add the listed video memory from one card to the system’s RAM, or treat the two as interchangeable. The requirements specify 16 GB of system RAM separately from the GPU examples’ VRAM. They are different entries in the checklist and need their own confirmation in the PC’s specification.
After requirement checks, compare current price, warranty coverage, upgradeability, power supply and cooling using the individual seller’s listing. Those factors matter to the value and practical ownership of a complete PC, but the store pages do not set a preferred price, warranty term, power supply rating or cooling design. There is no official price benchmark here that identifies a good deal. Check those details directly and avoid treating an attractive price or a “recommended for gaming” badge as evidence that the PC meets the game’s listed profile.
SSD, operating system and other easy-to-miss details
Storage is easy to overlook because the requirements do not state an installation size. They do state that an SSD installation is required. A PC listing that says only “storage included” is not enough to verify the requirement; determine whether the drive is an SSD and whether it has usable space for installation. Do not infer the game’s eventual disk footprint from the SSD requirement, and do not assume the official pages specify a minimum SSD capacity—they do not.
Recommended Free Tools
Likewise, confirm the full operating-system detail rather than just “Windows.” The listed requirement is Windows 10/11 64-bit. DirectX 12 is also specified. The store pages do not provide a separate checklist for drivers or other software, so this guidance is limited to confirming the stated OS and API support rather than assuming additional unlisted requirements.
Memory is a comparatively simple check: both profiles say 16 GB. The published recommended profile does not ask for more system memory than the minimum profile. That does not amount to a general promise about every application a buyer may run alongside the game; it only reports the game’s listed amount. If a used or custom PC listing gives no RAM figure, verify it instead of assuming that a capable GPU means the system has the needed memory.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to verify near purchase and after launch
The official date and requirements can change, and post-release testing may refine what a buyer should expect. Before committing to a PC primarily for this game, reopen the current Steam or Epic listing and confirm the release date and component requirements. After release, look for benchmarks that identify the exact CPU, GPU, resolution, upscaling mode and graphics settings. Results without those details are difficult to compare with the published targets.
A useful test report should distinguish native from upscaled output and state whether its frame-rate figure is an average, a typical result or a worst-case measurement. The store requirements do not supply these conditions, so comparisons between later tests and the official targets should preserve that distinction rather than treating the targets as guaranteed outcomes.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteBecause Steam and Epic both currently list October 28, 2026, the date provides a point to recheck availability, not proof that the game has already been released or independently tested. If you are deciding before launch, base the hardware match on the published tier and your intended resolution/frame-rate target, while recognizing what those specifications leave unanswered. If you can wait, use released-game measurements to evaluate configurations the store pages do not cover, including laptops, different GPU or CPU models, maximum settings and performance above the recommended profile.

A simple decision path
Start with the display experience you want to target, not with the most impressive number in a product title. If 1080p/30 FPS with upscaling is the target, compare a PC to the minimum profile. If you are aiming for the listed 1440p/60 FPS with upscaling, compare it to the recommended profile. Then check every named component and system requirement independently. A match on the graphics card alone is not a complete match, and a model that is absent from the examples is an unknown against these listings rather than an automatic pass or failure.
Before paying, resolve missing specifications with the seller, compare warranty and upgrade details, and verify the storage type and available capacity. Revisit the official Steam and Epic pages for changes, and seek specific post-launch tests for any configuration whose performance matters to your decision. This process gives you a defensible hardware comparison without treating pre-release targets as measured guarantees.
Frequently Asked Questions
What PC specs are listed for Phantom Blade Zero?
Steam and Epic list a minimum profile with a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 6GB or RX 5500 XT 8GB, and 16 GB RAM. The recommended profile names a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X, RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or RX 6700 XT 12GB, and 16 GB RAM. Both profiles list Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12 and an SSD installation.
What resolution and frame rate do the official tiers target?
Steam associates minimum hardware with 1080p/30 FPS and recommended hardware with 1440p/60 FPS, both with upscaling enabled. These are published pre-release targets, not independently measured results or guarantees.
Can an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU run Phantom Blade Zero at 1080p on maximum settings?
The official store requirements do not provide performance results for that laptop GPU, the Ryzen 7 8845HS, or maximum settings. They also do not establish laptop-to-desktop GPU equivalencies. Look for reliable testing of the exact laptop configuration after the game is released.
How much SSD space does Phantom Blade Zero require?
The official listings say SSD installation is required but do not give a capacity or installation size. Check the current store listing and the available storage on the PC; do not infer a capacity from the SSD requirement alone.
Is 16 GB of RAM enough for the recommended profile?
The recommended profile lists 16 GB of RAM, the same amount as the minimum profile. That is the published specification; it is not a separate guarantee about other applications running at the same time.

No. Steam’s recommended note pairs the recommended components with 1440p/60 FPS using upscaling, but the stores do not name a graphics preset, test method or maximum-settings result. The listings are pre-release specifications rather than benchmark reports.
The Bottom Line
For the published 1440p/60 FPS target, use the recommended examples—RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT, Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X, and 16 GB RAM—as your comparison point, then confirm Windows 10/11 64-bit, DirectX 12 and an SSD. For the lower 1080p/30 FPS target, compare against the minimum examples. Both targets include upscaling, and neither is an independent performance guarantee. Check the exact PC listing and revisit Steam or Epic for updated details; wait for configuration-specific post-release tests when you need evidence beyond the published tiers.
