Valve says reservation holders can see an expected order window there. The public instructions do not provide a universal numeric queue position, so the product page and the email attached to your Steam account are the authoritative places to check.
Where to check your Steam Frame status
Valve’s current instructions are account-specific: use the Steam account that submitted the Steam Frame reservation and open the official Steam Frame product page while signed in. The page is where Valve says reservation holders can check their expected order window.

- Sign in to Steam with the account used when you reserved Steam Frame.
- Open the official Steam Frame product page.
- Look for the reservation status and expected order window shown for that account.
- Check the email address associated with the same Steam account for reservation, waitlist, status-change, or purchase-option messages.
Valve’s October 9, 2026 Steam Hardware update states: “You can now check on your expected order window by going directly to the Steam Frame product page while logged in to your Steam account.” That wording describes a time window rather than a public, exact ordinal such as “number 4,281.”

What the status means
Reservation queue
A reservation means Valve has reserved the model you selected. It does not mean the headset is already ready to ship. As units become available for your list, Valve will email the option to purchase. Keep the reservation email and the Steam account available so you can act when that option arrives.

Waitlist
A waitlist message means you were beyond the quantity initially available for reservation. Valve says it will begin contacting people on a region’s waitlist after it has exhausted that region’s reservation queue. Being waitlisted is therefore a later position in the same model-and-region process, not a separate public line with a displayed number.
Expected order window
The expected order window is Valve’s account-specific estimate displayed on the product page. Treat it as an expectation, not a guaranteed purchase or delivery date. The public material does not establish a universal numeric rank, a fixed date for every account, or a promise that every reservation will convert at the same time.
Why two Steam Frame readers can see different timing
Steam Frame reservations are not one worldwide queue. Timing is separated by the model, shipping region, and status attached to the reservation.

Valve says queue positions proceed in randomized order within each list. The lists were randomized by model and shipping region, so a friend’s progress is meaningful only if the friend has the same model, region, and status. An email to someone in another region is not evidence that Valve skipped your place.

Model and region lists Valve identified
Valve’s signup FAQ said that model signups were randomized on September 17, 2026. It identified separate lists for the 256GB and 1TB models and for North America, the United Kingdom/European Union, and Australia. Signups made later were placed at the back of the waitlist.
The FAQ also identifies Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong as Komodo distribution regions and says shipping to South Korea would come later. Those arrangements are another reason not to use a report from a different country as a prediction for your own order window. Your account’s product-page display is the relevant check.
Launch dates versus your current order window
Valve’s initial fulfillment emails were scheduled to begin September 18, 2026, after the September 17 randomization. Those dates describe the launch process; they do not promise that an individual account would receive a purchase option on either date.
For the current process, use the October 9, 2026 instruction to open the Steam Frame product page while logged in. A date mentioned in a launch announcement, a forum post, or another person’s email should not replace the expected order window shown for your account.

How to read the product-page information carefully
Confirm the account first
Before interpreting any date or status, verify that Steam is signed in to the account that made the reservation. If a household has several Steam accounts, a page opened under a different login may not represent the reservation you are trying to track.
Identify the capacity
Check whether the reservation is for the 256GB or 1TB model. Valve maintains separate model lists, so the timing for one capacity cannot be used as the timing for the other.
Identify the shipping list
Read the region associated with the reservation. North America, the United Kingdom/European Union, Australia, and the distribution regions Valve names for Komodo do not share one public line. Keep regional comparisons within the same list.
Distinguish a window from a rank
If the page gives an expected order window, record that wording as an estimate. Do not convert it into an invented queue number. Valve’s public guidance reviewed for this process does not say that readers can see an exact numeric place.

Email is part of the queue check
Valve uses email for reservation and waitlist status changes and for the later purchase option. Check the address associated with the Steam account, including spam or filtered folders, and make sure you can access it. The product page tells you the current expected window; an email is how Valve communicates a status change or purchase opportunity.
- Look for messages confirming reservation or waitlist status.
- Watch for a message saying your status has changed.
- Watch for the purchase option when units become available for your list.
- Compare the email’s account and region details with what you see after signing in.
Do not treat an email sent to another person, another account, or another region as proof that your own reservation moved. Queue processing is list-specific.

You reserved Steam Frame but cannot see a window
- Sign out of Steam and sign back in to the account that submitted the reservation.
- Open the official Steam Frame product page again.
- Check whether the account’s reservation or waitlist email is associated with a different Steam login.
- Review the account’s email for a status-change message.
The evidence available publicly does not specify a separate public queue-number page or a guaranteed display format beyond the expected-order-window instruction. If the correct account still does not show the information you expect, rely on Valve’s account support channels rather than trying to infer a rank from other users’ reports.
You received a waitlist email
Read it as confirmation that you were beyond the quantity initially available for reservation. It does not provide a publicly established number of people ahead of you. Valve says the waitlist is contacted only after the reservation queue for that model and region is exhausted, so continue checking the product page and the associated email.

A friend received a purchase email first
Compare the two reservations by capacity, shipping region, and status. If any of those differ, the two accounts are in different lists or stages. Even within the same list, randomized order means another account can be contacted before yours.
Your expected window changes
Use the newest window displayed for your signed-in account. Valve describes it as expected, so a change should be read as an updated estimate rather than a guaranteed purchase or delivery appointment. Keep monitoring email for the separate purchase-option message.
What not to use as a queue tracker
- There is no established public numeric position that you can calculate from the reservation date alone.
- A social-media spreadsheet or forum list cannot account for Valve’s randomized order, model separation, and regional lists.
- An email from another country cannot establish your place in your own shipping list.
- The September 17 randomization and September 18 initial-email dates are launch milestones, not an individual promise.
- Accessory availability has no bearing on your reservation status.
Frequently useful checks before contacting support
- Is the Steam account currently signed in the one that submitted the reservation?
- Are you checking the official Steam Frame product page rather than a third-party listing?
- Did you reserve the 256GB or 1TB model, and are you comparing with the same capacity?
- Is the shipping region the same as the person or post you are comparing against?
- Have you checked the email address attached to Steam for reservation, waitlist, or purchase-option messages?
- Are you treating the displayed information as an expected window rather than an exact rank or guaranteed date?
The practical answer
There is no public universal “place in line” number to look up. The reliable check is to sign in to the reservation account, open Valve’s Steam Frame product page, and read the expected order window shown there. Then monitor the same account’s email for a status change and, when your list reaches your reservation, the purchase option. Interpret every comparison through the correct model, shipping region, and reservation-versus-waitlist status.
