Check the PlayStation account’s Game Library and Monthly Games area to see games associated with your account, then check what kind of access each title uses. Monthly Games require an active PlayStation Plus membership; Game Catalog and Classics Catalog games require an eligible tier and may leave the service. Being in your library does not by itself mean a game is playable indefinitely.

Check what kind of access the game uses
Use the game’s source to decide what to verify. PlayStation Plus access is not one permanent license shared by every game associated with the service.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeem for anything on PlayStationStore: games, add-ons, PlayStationPlus and more.
- Everything you want to play. Choose from the largest library of PlayStation content.
- Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
| How you got the game | What must be true for it to remain playable |
|---|---|
| Monthly Game | The game must have been added to the account’s library, and that account must have an active PlayStation Plus membership. |
| Game Catalog or Classics Catalog | Your subscription must include the relevant catalog, and the title must still be offered through the service. Catalog titles can be removed. |
| Purchased game | You must be using the account that owns the purchase; if the game is unavailable or locked, check the transaction record and license or console-sharing settings. |
PlayStation’s catalog lineup and plan benefits can change. For a current access decision, check your active plan and the title’s live PlayStation Store or catalog listing.
Confirm the account and transaction if a game is missing
The library is account-specific. If a game you expect to see is absent, first check that the console or app is signed in to the account that claimed or purchased it. For a purchase that is missing, Sony recommends checking transaction history.

Open transaction history
- Web: Sign in to Account Management and select Transaction History.
- PS5: Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Transaction History.
- PS4: Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Transaction History.
- PlayStation App: Open PlayStation Store, open the menu, and select Transaction History.
Sony’s online history defaults to the past two years. If you are checking an older transaction, choose another date range when that option is available.

PlayStation Support says a padlock next to a game “could mean there’s a problem with the game’s license.” Treat the icon as a reason to check access, not as proof that the game was never claimed.

- Redeem for anything on PlayStationStore: games, add-ons, PlayStationPlus and more.
- Everything you want to play. Choose from the largest library of PlayStation content.
- Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
- Verify the signed-in account. Use the account that claimed or bought the title.
- Match the check to the entitlement. For a Monthly Game, confirm the Plus membership is active. For a catalog game, confirm your tier qualifies and the title is still in the service. For a purchase, check transaction history.
- If access should be valid, follow Sony’s license and console-sharing troubleshooting steps. License restoration and console-sharing settings are among Sony’s recommended checks.
A downloaded catalog game can still become unavailable when it leaves the service. Check its current catalog status rather than relying on an earlier download or library listing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What you can and cannot verify from the library
Your signed-in library is useful for identifying titles associated with the account, but public PlayStation documentation does not provide an account-specific claim ledger that establishes every past claim. For a particular game, combine the account’s library and transaction history with the current subscription status and the game’s present catalog listing. The right check depends on whether the game is a Monthly Game, a catalog title, or a purchase.
