Compare your PC’s Windows version, processor, RAM, graphics card and VRAM, DirectX support, and free storage with Auroch Digital’s published requirements below. The developer lists minimum and recommended configurations, but does not specify a resolution or frame-rate target for either tier.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 PC requirements

Auroch Digital lists these specifications for the Windows PC version in its official FAQ:

Component Minimum Recommended
Operating system Windows 10 Windows 10
Processor AMD Phenom II X4 965 / Intel Core i3-2120 AMD Ryzen 5 1500X / Intel Core i5-8400
Memory 8 GB RAM 8 GB RAM
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 7770 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560; 1 GB VRAM AMD Radeon RX 580 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti; 3 GB VRAM
DirectX Version 11 Version 11
Available storage 5 GB 5 GB

These are the developer’s example components, not a tested list of every compatible part. The FAQ gives no FPS or resolution target for the recommended tier, so “recommended” should not be read as a promise of a particular experience.

How to check your PC’s specifications

  1. Check Windows and processor: Open Settings > System > About. Find the Windows edition and processor name under Device specifications.
  2. Check installed memory: In the same Settings > System > About page, look for Installed RAM. Compare it with the 8 GB listed for both tiers.
  3. Check the graphics adapter and VRAM: Open Settings > System > Display > Advanced display and inspect the displayed adapter information. You can also open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc, choose Performance, then select each GPU to see its model and dedicated GPU memory. If your PC has both integrated graphics and a separate graphics card, identify the separate card rather than assuming the integrated adapter is the one used for games.
  4. Check DirectX: Press Windows key + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool lists the installed DirectX version on its System tab. The FAQ requires DirectX 11.
  5. Check free space: Open File Explorer > This PC and check the free space on the drive where you plan to install the game. The FAQ lists 5 GB available storage.

Windows menus and the information shown can vary by PC and driver. If the exact GPU or VRAM is not clear, use the adapter name shown in Windows to check the PC or graphics-card maker’s specification page.

How to compare your parts with the listed tiers

Compare the exact CPU and GPU models you found with the examples in the table, and check each shared requirement separately. The FAQ does not provide a conversion chart for other processors or graphics cards; a newer model name alone does not establish that it meets either tier. A laptop may also use different power limits or graphics configurations than a desktop card with a similar name, and the published list does not give laptop-specific guidance.

  • Meets every minimum entry: Your PC matches the developer’s stated minimum examples and shared requirements. The list does not guarantee a specific frame rate or resolution.
  • Below or unclear on one or more entries: The published specifications do not establish compatibility for that configuration. Check for an updated official listing or try the Steam demo before buying hardware.
  • Matches the recommended examples: Your hardware aligns with the developer’s recommended examples, but no performance target is attached to that tier.

Can the Steam demo help?

Auroch Digital links a Steam-exclusive demo in its FAQ, and the developer’s Steam Community announcements provide release and demo context. Trying it on your own PC can offer a practical indication of how the game runs on that system. Demo performance is not a formal guarantee for every part of the full game, however.
