To check whether your PC can run Path Tracing in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, compare its GPU, CPU and system memory with the developer’s published Path Tracing target, then account for resolution, upscaling and Frame Generation. The reported target is an RTX 5080, an Intel Core i9-13900K or AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 24 GB of memory for 2160p at 60 FPS with DLSS and Frame Generation. That is a target configuration, not a guarantee or a universal minimum.
First, confirm which version includes Path Tracing
The Path Tracing feature covered here is available on PC in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, released September 29, 2026, according to CD PROJEKT RED’s release announcement.

What PC configuration is the Path Tracing target?
PC Gamer’s September 29, 2026 report transcribes CD PROJEKT RED’s published Path Tracing row as a 2160p (DLSS) target of 60 FPS with Frame Generation, using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, either an Intel Core i9-13900K or AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 24 GB of system memory. The report is available at PC Gamer.
| Part of the target | Published configuration |
|---|---|
| Output resolution and upscaling | 2160p with DLSS |
| Performance target | 60 FPS with Frame Generation |
| Graphics card | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 |
| Processor | Intel Core i9-13900K or AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D |
| System memory | 24 GB |
CD PROJEKT RED’s updated PC requirements say the Path Tracing performance figures were measured with upscaling and Frame Generation enabled. They are not a like-for-like prediction for native 4K rendering or for a setup with Frame Generation disabled.

How to check your PC against the target
- Find your components. Record the exact graphics card and processor models, plus installed system memory. Do not rely on a brand name alone; compare the full model names.
- Write down your intended display settings. Note the output resolution and graphics preset you plan to use. The published target is for 2160p (DLSS) and RT Ultra.
- Check the rendering features. The target assumes DLSS upscaling and Frame Generation. A comparison is meaningful only if you account for whether those features are available and enabled in your intended setup.
- Compare every listed component. Check GPU, CPU and memory separately against the table. A matching graphics card by itself does not establish that the complete PC meets the target.
- Treat any FPS estimate as conditional. The target is not a guarantee for every scene or system. CD PROJEKT RED says FPS can fluctuate by scene and vary with configuration, graphics settings and output resolution.
How to interpret a mismatch
If your PC is below one or more listed components, the published target does not establish that Path Tracing is impossible. It also does not establish what frame rate your PC will achieve at lower resolution or different settings. The cited requirements provide a specific target configuration, not a pass/fail threshold for every combination of hardware and settings.
Likewise, matching or exceeding the listed parts does not promise 60 FPS in every scene. The developer describes the expected FPS as based on its QA tests and notes that performance changes with scene, system configuration, graphics settings and output resolution. Without a benchmark for your exact PC and settings, use the table as a comparison point rather than a precise forecast.

Check storage and operating-system support too
The updated requirements list an SSD as required. CD PROJEKT RED also says the game may still run on Windows 10, but it no longer develops or tests on that operating system and cannot guarantee future compatibility or performance. These are general game-readiness and support considerations; they do not determine by themselves whether Path Tracing will work on a given PC.
