Sign in to the Amazon account you want to check, open Your Account, then select Prime Membership. Amazon identifies that page as the place to verify membership. If you are checking because of a charge, also review your Amazon transactions: a Prime Video channel or another digital subscription can bill separately from Prime.
Check Prime status in your Amazon account
- Sign in to the Amazon account that may have been enrolled.
- Open Your Account and select Prime Membership.
- Review the membership details and any management controls shown on that account. Amazon does not document one universal status label or screen layout, so use the information displayed in your signed-in account rather than relying on a particular phrase.
Amazon’s help guidance gives this route for checking membership: Your Account > Prime Membership. Navigation labels and plan details may vary by marketplace.

If you are checking because of a charge
Look at the transaction history for the account and compare the charge description, date, and amount. Amazon says Prime membership charges may be monthly or annual, depending on the plan. Its U.S. help page lists descriptors such as “AMZ*Prime Shipping Club” and “AMAZON PRIME*A1B2C3D4Eamzn.com/bill”; these are clues to investigate, not proof by themselves that the account you are viewing has an active membership. A Prime Video channel or another Amazon digital subscription is not the same thing as a Prime membership. Amazon notes that these services may renew separately, and a Prime membership renewal and a Prime Video subscription can appear on different dates. Check the relevant transaction details and subscription information rather than treating a digital-service charge as evidence of Prime. Amazon explains unknown charges on Prime Video.

Consider other possible sources of an unfamiliar charge
If you cannot match a charge to your account, Amazon lists possibilities including another person who has access to the card, an additional card, a back-ordered or preordered item, or a gift order. A shared payment method alone does not tell you which account or service made the charge. Use Amazon’s charge-identification guidance to investigate.
Do not use Prime benefits as the status test
Delivery benefits, Prime Video, or Amazon Music can prompt you to check, but they are less conclusive than the membership page for the account in question. Amazon lists these as examples of Prime benefits on its Prime overview; availability and benefits can vary by location and change over time.

Verify unexpected emails or calls safely
If a message says you owe a Prime fee or must fix an account problem, do not use the message or caller’s claim as confirmation. Go directly to Amazon’s website or app, sign in, and check Prime Membership. Amazon recommends using the Message Center to review authentic emails and warns that scammers may pressure people to provide payment or bank information. It also says it will not ask you over the phone to provide payment information for products or services. Read Amazon’s scam guidance.
