There is no single “professional features” switch in NVIDIA software. To check a workstation, identify the exact feature and application, inspect the relevant Control Panel setting or license status, then verify the feature in the workload itself. Hardware support, driver configuration, application support and vGPU licensing are separate checks.
First identify the feature and where it should work
“NVIDIA professional features” can mean different things: a GPU capability, CUDA access, a workstation driver or configuration, application support or certification, or NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation licensing. Each has a different verification path. Write down the feature name and the application or virtual desktop where you expect it to work before changing settings.

NVIDIA Control Panel manages graphics-driver settings and other installed NVIDIA utilities, but its settings alone cannot confirm that a specific application successfully used a feature. NVIDIA Control Panel Help describes the panel’s role; the application’s own status or a representative workload is needed to confirm operation.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Check the workstation GPU and display status
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
- In the navigation tree, select Workstation > View system topology, if that page is available.
- Expand the listed entries to inspect graphics cards, attached displays, related feature status and links to settings. Use More for additional GPU details, including the driver version.
The page is an inventory and status view, not a guarantee that every application supports every listed capability. Menu availability and labels can differ by GPU generation, driver and Control Panel version. See NVIDIA’s System Topology help.

Check CUDA availability and GPU selection
For CUDA-related issues, inspect both the GPU usage mode, where available, and the list of CUDA GPUs selected for the target application.
Inspect GPU usage mode when the control is available
On supported Quadro-era Control Panel configurations, open Workstation > Manage GPU Utilization > Usage mode. NVIDIA documents two choices: professional graphics plus CUDA compute, or professional graphics only. If the menu is absent, do not assume CUDA is disabled; the control may not be supported or exposed by that GPU and driver combination. Consult NVIDIA’s usage-mode instructions.

- Support DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.6, CUDA, OpenCL, DirectCompute and DirectML
- Original half height bracket matches with the low profile brackets make the Glorto GeForce GT 730 graphics card fit well with all PC tower, small form factor and HTPC(except micro form factor)
Inspect global and application-specific CUDA settings
- Open Manage 3D Settings in NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Check the Global Settings tab for the default CUDA – GPUs selection.
- Open Program Settings, choose or add the target application, and inspect its CUDA – GPUs selection as well.
- Confirm that the intended GPU is selected for the relevant scope. NVIDIA says GPUs not selected there will not be used for CUDA applications.
Global and per-program selections are distinct: a program-specific setting is the relevant one when the application has its own entry. NVIDIA documents the setting in Manage 3D Settings (reference).

A selected GPU or enabled driver setting shows configuration, not successful use. Open the application’s own device, renderer, acceleration or performance status page, if it provides one, and confirm that it identifies the expected NVIDIA GPU or feature. Then run a representative task that depends on that capability and check the application’s status or performance view while it runs.

- If the application reports a different GPU, review its own device preference as well as NVIDIA Control Panel’s per-program setting.
- If the application reports that the feature is unavailable, check its documented GPU and driver requirements and whether the installed application edition supports it.
- If the application reports the expected device but the task fails, treat that as a workload or application problem to diagnose; the Control Panel selection alone does not establish the cause.
Check RTX Virtual Workstation licensing only on virtualized systems
For NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstation (vWS) licensing, open NVIDIA Control Panel > Licensing > Manage License, if that section is present. The page reports the license mode and acquisition status. NVIDIA says that if Licensing or Manage License is missing, the GPU or driver does not support the vGPU software-licensed features. This check is specific to vGPU licensing; it does not diagnose other workstation capabilities. See NVIDIA’s RTX Virtual Workstation licensing instructions.
Separate hardware, driver, application and license requirements
When a feature is unavailable, compare the installed GPU model and driver with the requirements for that exact feature and application. Professional branding, an enterprise driver, an ISV certification and a particular hardware capability are related but not interchangeable: none by itself proves that every professional capability is available or supported in every application. NVIDIA’s RTX PRO desktop GPU page describes product positioning; check the specific model’s specifications and the application vendor’s requirements for a compatibility decision.
- Hardware: Does the exact GPU model support the capability?
- Driver and Control Panel: Is the required setting or driver support available in the installed configuration?
- Application: Does the application and its edition support the feature, and does its own status show the expected GPU?
- Virtualization: If this is a vGPU deployment, does the relevant vWS license page show the expected mode and acquisition status?
NVIDIA’s Control Panel help pages include Quadro-era labels, and available controls can vary with GPU generation and driver. Check the current menu labels, model support, operating-system requirements, application requirements and licensing terms for the actual deployment.
