Enter the street number and street name, then select the matching premises in the results. NBN’s checker asks for a valid address including the street number and name.

Read the status shown for that exact property. The checker may say it is connected or ready to connect, that more work is required, or that the network is not currently available.

If the premises is ready or connected, contact a phone or internet provider and ask whether it can supply an NBN 25 plan at that address. Confirm the expected download and upload speeds and the plan’s terms before ordering.

NBN Co directs people whose premises can connect to contact a provider to order an NBN-powered plan. Its moving-home page says the network serves more than 12 million premises, but that network-wide figure does not establish availability at any individual address. Check the specific premises rather than relying on general coverage claims.
What the checker’s status means

What NBN 25 means—and what it does not guarantee
NBN Co calls its 25 Mbps download wholesale tier Home Basic II. On its residential speed-plan page, the upload figure for this tier is listed as 10 Mbps on FTTP/C and HFC, and 5–10 Mbps on FTTN/B. These are wholesale tier descriptions, not proof that every premises or retail provider offers the plan. The page was accessed on 13 October 2026; check current details when choosing a plan.

The tier name is not a guarantee of the speed you will experience. NBN Co says performance can depend on access technology and configuration, busy-period usage, equipment and setup, the provider’s chosen plan, your devices, and the provider’s network design. Ask the provider for its expected speeds at busy times as well as its advertised download and upload figures.

If the checker cannot find your property

Check the spelling and street number, then try entering the street name without extra address details.

Use the map pin on the checker and reposition it in Earth view to identify the correct premises.

For a new home, try searching by lot number if you know it. NBN Co notes that the lot number may be listed on the contract of sale or residential tenancy agreement.

NBN Co’s moving-home guidance also points people to its address lookup to check whether the network is available at a new home. A map location or lot number can help identify a premises, but the result still needs to be checked against the specific address.

Once NBN’s checker shows the premises is connected or ready, contact one or more phone or internet providers. Ask them to verify the exact address and whether an NBN 25 plan is currently orderable there. Availability and retail offers can change, so check directly with the provider before committing.

Plan terms: What ongoing charges, included features, equipment requirements, or other conditions apply?
The official checker answers the premises-level network question; the provider confirms the retail plan and its terms. Neither the name “NBN 25” nor a general statement that the NBN network covers an area is enough to establish that a particular plan can be ordered at a specific address.
