Check the exact RTX 5080 card model against your case’s available GPU space, then verify that your power supply meets NVIDIA’s stated 850 W minimum and has a supported cable arrangement. “RTX 5080” alone is not enough to establish fit: partner cards can differ in length, height and thickness, and case clearance can change with installed fans, radiators or drive cages.
1. Find the exact graphics-card model
Before measuring, identify the manufacturer and full model or SKU you plan to install. Download that card maker’s current specification sheet or manual and note its length, height, thickness or slot occupancy, and power-connector location. Use those figures rather than assuming every RTX 5080 matches NVIDIA’s Founders Edition.

NVIDIA lists the Founders Edition card clearance as 304 mm long × 137 mm wide × 61 mm high in its GeForce RTX 5080 User Guide. Partner cards can differ. For example, NVIDIA’s SFF-Ready list gives the ASUS PRIME as 126 × 304 × 50 mm, the MSI INSPIRE 3X as 112 × 288 × 50 mm, and the GIGABYTE WINDFORCE SFF as 126 × 304 × 50 mm. These examples are not interchangeable specifications; verify the exact SKU you are buying.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minute2. Check the case’s available space in your actual build
Look up the case manual or product specification for GPU clearance, then account for the parts already installed. A published maximum length may assume an unobstructed configuration; front fans, a radiator or a drive cage can reduce usable room.
#1 Best Overall
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4. System Requirements: Minimum 850W PSU with 16-pin 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) connector required. Verify before purchasing. OC mode: 2685 MHz/ Default mode: 2655 MHz (Boost Clock)
- SFF-Ready enthusiast GeForce card compatible with small-form-factor builds
- Axial-tech fans feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Vapor chamber ensures efficient heat transfer for lower GPU temps
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- Length: Compare the card’s specified length with the case’s available length after accounting for installed front components.
- Height and cable access: Check the card’s height and where its power connector sits. Allow room to route the cable and close the side panel without forcing the cable against it.
- Thickness: Compare the card’s thickness or occupied expansion slots with the free slots and clearance in your case. Check for conflicts with adjacent cards or other components.
NVIDIA recommends “One additional slot clearance in front of the fans” for better airflow. Treat that as useful airflow guidance when assessing the space around the card, not as a substitute for checking the case and card manuals.
3. Treat SFF-Ready as a specific guideline, not a universal fit rule
NVIDIA’s SFF-Ready guideline sets a maximum card length of 304 mm, depth of 50 mm (2.5 slots), and height of 151 mm including power-cable bend radius for products covered by that guideline. This can help when comparing products explicitly identified as SFF-Ready. It does not establish that an unlabelled card or case meets those limits, nor does it replace checking your installed configuration.

- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4. System Requirements: Minimum 850W PSU with 16-pin 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) connector required. Verify before purchasing.
- Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability. Compatibility: 348mm (13.7") length, 3.6 slots, 4.3 lbs. Confirm case clearance and slot spacing. GPU bracket included.
- Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
- 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads
4. Verify the PSU wattage and cable arrangement
NVIDIA’s RTX 5080 User Guide specifies an 850 W minimum system PSU rating for the guide’s setup. It lists two supported power connections:
- At least three PCIe 8-pin cables used with the RTX 5080 adapter.
- One PCIe Gen 5 16-pin cable rated for 450 W or greater.
Check the PSU label and documentation, along with the cables actually supplied or supported by that PSU. Then check the graphics card maker’s instructions too. The 850 W rating by itself does not confirm that the PSU has the required connectors or that its cabling matches the card’s instructions. NVIDIA’s figure is its stated minimum for the guide’s setup, not a universal guarantee for every system configuration.

5. Confirm the fit before powering on
- Record the exact card SKU and its dimensions, slot occupancy and connector location from the card manufacturer’s documentation.
- Measure the case’s configured clearance. Check the manual’s GPU limits and account for fans, radiators, cages and other installed parts.
- Check the space around the card. Confirm that its height and thickness fit and that the power cable can reach the connector without being forced against the side panel.
- Match PSU rating and cables to the NVIDIA guide and the card and PSU manufacturers’ instructions.
- After installation, inspect the power connection before switching on. NVIDIA says to seat the adapter connection securely, with the plug fully inserted and flush against the receptacle; when using the adapter, connect the required dedicated PCIe 8-pin cables.
What to compare when the answer is unclear
| Part | Check | Where to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Graphics card | Exact SKU; length; height; thickness or slot occupancy; connector location | Card maker’s specification sheet and manual |
| Case | GPU clearance in the installed configuration; expansion-slot and cable-routing room | Case maker’s specification and manual |
| Power supply | Rated wattage and actual supported cable/connector arrangement | PSU label, documentation and supplied or approved cable set |
If any measurement or connector detail is missing, check the relevant manufacturer’s manual rather than inferring compatibility from the RTX 5080 name, a case’s headline GPU-length figure, or the PSU’s wattage alone.
