Check the receipt and the payment account used for the purchase. YouTube says Super Chats are voluntary, non-refundable payments, so an ordinary Super Chat purchase is not eligible for a routine refund. If the charge was unauthorized, report it through YouTube’s separate unauthorized-charge process.
If you paid for the Super Chat
- Find the receipt. YouTube emails a receipt after a Super Chat or Super Sticker purchase. Search the inbox for the Google or YouTube receipt and confirm the date and amount. For an Apple-billed purchase, check the receipt from Apple.
- Check the account and payment record. For a Google-billed charge, go to pay.google.com and sign in to the Google account used to pay. Review its activity and billing details; new Super Chat, Super Sticker, or Super Thanks purchases made in the Android app may be billed through Google Play.
- Read any status in context. In YouTube’s general refund troubleshooting guidance, “Refunded” means a credit should appear on the original payment method. “Cancelled” means the order was not charged, so no credit will appear. These general status definitions do not override YouTube’s separate policy that Super Chats are non-refundable.
A receipt or payment record helps identify the transaction, but it does not mean YouTube will refund an ordinary Super Chat. YouTube describes Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and YouTube Giving as voluntary, non-refundable payments. See YouTube’s refunds and billing guidance.

- On a computer, sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Earn, then open Supers.
- On the Super Chat and Super Sticker activity card, select See all to view available transaction information.

If you did not authorize the charge
An unauthorized-charge report is different from asking for a routine refund of a Super Chat you chose to send. If you do not recognize the transaction, use YouTube’s process for reporting unauthorized charges. YouTube says digital YouTube charges can be reported within 120 days of the transaction; its guidance lists a statement descriptor beginning with GOOGLE*YouTube. If the transaction was billed through Apple, contact Apple about that payment route.
Refunded, cancelled, or unauthorized: what each means
- Refunded: A charged payment is being credited to the original payment method, according to YouTube’s general status explanation. Allow for the payment provider’s processing time and check that original method.
- Cancelled: The order was not charged, so there is no refund credit to find.
- Unauthorized: You say you did not make or approve the charge; report it through the unauthorized-charge route rather than treating it as an ordinary Super Chat refund request.
