Check the benefit label first, then verify the game while signed in to the PlayStation account that has your subscription. “Included with PS Plus” can mean a Monthly Game, a Game Catalog or Classics Catalog title, or a game trial—and each has different tier and availability rules.
Which PS Plus benefit is the game?
Sony’s US tier comparison lists Monthly Games for Essential, Extra, and Premium; Game Catalog access for Extra and Premium; and Classics Catalog access and game trials for Premium. Extra includes Essential benefits, while Premium includes Essential and Extra benefits. Use the label in the claim to identify the benefit, rather than assuming every PS Plus game is available on every plan. See Sony’s US membership comparison.

| Benefit named in the claim | Tier Sony lists | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly Games | Essential, Extra, Premium | Whether you added the game to your library while it was available and your membership is active. |
| Game Catalog | Extra, Premium | Whether you have Extra or Premium and the game is currently listed in your region. |
| Classics Catalog | Premium | Whether you have Premium and the specific title is currently listed. |
| Game trial | Premium | Whether the title is offered as a trial and the offer is still available. |
These categories are not interchangeable. A Monthly Game you claimed during its offer period is an account-library entitlement; a catalog game must still be offered in the catalog when you want to access it. Sony says Monthly Games can be played while the membership is active, and that some catalog games have end dates and are removed from the service. Check Sony’s current PS Plus games information.
How to check on your PlayStation
- Confirm the account and plan. Make sure the console is signed in to the PlayStation account associated with the membership, then check whether its tier matches the benefit: Essential, Extra, or Premium. Sony’s tier comparison is a guide; the signed-in local Store is the final check.
- Open the PS Plus section. On PS5, from the Games home screen, open PlayStation Plus and select Benefits. On PS4, open PlayStation Plus from the function screen.
- Choose the matching benefit. On PS5, go to Monthly Games or Game Catalog under Benefits. On PS4, select Monthly Games or Game Catalog. Find the title and inspect the access or download option shown for your account. Sony’s support guide describes these console routes: PS Plus game access and downloads.
- Check the entitlement timing. For a Monthly Game, verify that it was added to your library during its claim period. For a catalog title, verify that it is still listed now; a past announcement does not establish current access.
Sony says a Game Catalog title requires the appropriate membership plan to download. If you are away from the console, Sony also supports downloading a selected Monthly Game through a web browser or the PlayStation App; make sure you are signed in to the same account. Sony’s Monthly Games help.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeem for anything on PlayStationStore: games, add-ons, PlayStationPlus and more.
- Everything you want to play. Choose from the largest library of PlayStation content.
- Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
Why the game may not appear as included
- The claim refers to a higher tier. A Game Catalog title is not included with Essential; Classics Catalog titles and trials are listed for Premium.
- You missed a Monthly Game’s claim window. A monthly offer is not the same as permanent ownership: check whether you added it to your library while it was available, and whether your membership is active.
- The catalog listing ended. Game Catalog and Classics Catalog availability can change, and some titles have removal dates.
- You are using a different account. Check the account that holds the PS Plus membership and is intended to play the game.
- Your Store region differs from the claim’s region. The cited tier and game pages are Sony US pages. The available title and entitlement need to be confirmed in the signed-in Store for your account’s region.
What the result means
If the game appears in the appropriate PS Plus area with an access or download option, your signed-in account is the best indicator of current eligibility. If it does not, compare the benefit type, tier, claim history or current catalog listing, account, and region before concluding that the claim applies to you. A general PS Plus announcement alone cannot establish live access for a particular game, edition, account, or region.
